We use hyphens after prefixes and when combining words together in some cases. The basic rule for the compound words are. 1: if you can not find a compound verb/word the dictionary, then it is two separate words, but if it is in the dictionary then it is hyphenated. Ex : If I do not have a air-conditioned room I will fire you.
