Grays in the Shade. Northerners head south…. As I mentioned in a previous post, after our sister and brother-in-law left we had another set of fun visitors in for a week from Iowa. Lucky for us they had been reading about the Mayan ruins at Lamanai. We caught the first water taxi at 7 AM and traveled about an hour by car from Belize City to the New River. Lamanai means “submerged crocodile”. It was a Mayan City that was continuously occupied for over 3000 years. As I posted here. New River in the Rain.

Monday, May 30, 2011. Bettie's ready to get wet. The marina has one last coat of paint to apply before putting her in the water and set the mast for us, which will happen within the next week or so. We moved the mast on top of the boat and pre-rigged it so they can set it when it goes in the water.
