Sunday, September 11, 2011. Update on Backyard Plants. It's been a lonnnnng time between posts. The only evident changes have been in the growth of the plants. Atleast I haven't killed them! I am ecstatic that my hellebores have flourished on our south wall. Those that had been planted on the west side were too exposed to the heat, so I added them to the southern plot. A reminder - 1 year ago :. The camellia Happy Holidays which is in the same plot, doesn't seem to like the position. The potted yukkas (?

Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Frangipani 6 months on. I hoped against hope that it would survive, particularly when a branch started to rot and fell off! My prayers have been answered. This is the tree 6 months ago :. This is the tree today :. A shame my hellebores aren't doing so well. Let's see how they do this winter.if not, out they come! The rain/showers have been constant and as a result, the plants are thriving. That includes the weeds.so excuse the little blighters you can see against the low wall. I WILL get to them! Thursday, January 13, 2011. Apologies for the poor timing of this post considering the human tragedies happening right now in our north. Down here in Sydney the rains are 'heaven' sent for our gardens - as I write this I am thinking of a friend who is struggling with her build across the river and probably rolling her eyes at my comments - sorry B . Our murraya hedge has finally taken off! Might be a few years yet before we get the privacy we long for but atleast it's happening - patience is the key.
