After 15 years of involvement in first the Greensand Project and since 1999 the Greensand Trust, Richard Woolnough our Trust director has decided the time has come to retire, hang up his keyboard and take the time to enjoy the Suffolk countryside. Sandy Smith Nature Reserve. Priory Country Park is a former gravel pits located on the edge of Bedford next to the River Great Ouse. Ivel Ringing Group records for Priory Country Park go back to 1988. I've been involved with ringing on the site since 2007 and took it on in November 2010, on behalf of the Ivel Ringing Group. It was ringed in Wibrin, Luxembourg, Belgium on 24th February 2012 as an adult female (Euring code 6) and was recaptured by me 288 days later (on 08/08/12) at Sandy Smith Nature Reserve. I can never remember how much produce I bought and if it was enough or too much.I'll try to keep track. 4 half-flats of raspberries. 4 half-flats of strawberries. 1 half-flat combo blackberry, marionberry and boysenberry. 5 lbs cukes (from Jubilee. got 10 but the rest were too big to do anything with). I think there were more berries than this. But this is what I can remember. Sarah also gave us a ton of blueberries and we had several pints off the bushes. 6 quarts halved cherries.
