Religious practices and beliefs –. No matter how sound your orthodoxy –. Your voice is a fragile whisper. When compared to the. Of how you live with. And treat other people –. That's the reason Jesus couldn't. To love God and love neighbor. Integrity of faith requires both;. One cannot exist without the other. Links to this post.

For a declarative response,. If not an exclamatory one,. We often go into game-show mode,. Swinging for the fences. Check off a whole list and,. Before you know it, you may have. Welcome to the Journey. Who Is the Second Journey Scribe? Victoria’s Short Bio. Postcards from the Edge. September 5, 2016. Sipping on Hope at Starbucks. August 24, 2013. 8220;I have no money. I don’t sleep. I’m worried.”. My friend was pretty upset and we were looking for hope at the local Starbucks. Jazz music blaring, live-streaming tears – somebody order a latte, quick. She needed to vent. I needed to listen. In times like these, friendship is sacred ground. Let some love in. How does that happen?

Pursuing the Beauty Writings. Fragmented faith, the silence of God, beauty, leaving institutional church, deconstructing fr/ religion, healing from clergy abuse/misconduct, grief, parenting, etc. December 19, 2014. What would happen if one woman told the truth about her life? The world would split open.:. This is where i am. this unbelief. how can i learn to be free within this space? To let go of the shame and guilt that plague my journey here? This shedding, this releasing, where will it all lead?
Tuesday's Muse: Praying Up
http://tuesdaysmuse.blogspot.com/2015/08/praying-up.html
We are surrounded by grace as much as air. Breathe them both deeply, in and out. Friday, August 7, 2015. Praying up a cloud. Praying up a gentle rain. To slake your painful thirst. Praying up a quilt. To comfort your deepest ache. Praying up hope and grace. To wrap your broken heart. To reminisce with stories of love. Praying up a handkerchief. To dry the river of tears. Praying up anything but a storm. To hold you from now. Til the end of your years. Photo by Lee Lindsey McKinney. 169; 2015 Todd Jenkins.

Pursuing the Beauty Writings. Fragmented faith, the silence of God, beauty, leaving institutional church, deconstructing fr/ religion, healing from clergy abuse/misconduct, grief, parenting, etc. October 24, 2014. Years of wounding added up. It all came crashing down around me. Shards cutting me as I move outward. What has this shattering done? What is this new world whose air I can now breathe? The house can never be rebuilt. One million pieces unable to resurrect. Was it all really a mirage? October 25...

We are surrounded by grace as much as air. Breathe them both deeply, in and out. Monday, August 31, 2015. Photo by Anne Shurley. History is much colder. Than you ever imagined,. Far warmer than you’ve dreamed,. More dangerous than you ever thought,. Less glamorous than we’ve written it,. And even more boring. Than the latest generation sees it. To be sure, there are many lessons. To be learned from its study;. But we dare not fool ourselves. Into believing the version currently playing. Links to this post.

Tuesday's Muse: Earth and Sky

We are surrounded by grace as much as air. Breathe them both deeply, in and out. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Photo by Lee Lindsey McKinney. The edge of earth and sky. Is a sacred space,. Exponentially expanded in liminality. By the presence of water. And the rising or setting. Of the sun or moon. To be present and attentive. To this frontier is to experience. The holy in ways previously unknown. We know the moon pulls water. Into tides, so we shouldn't be surprised. When she pulls our hearts toward more.
Tuesday's Muse: Imagine Opportunity
http://tuesdaysmuse.blogspot.com/2015/08/imagine-opportunity.html
We are surrounded by grace as much as air. Breathe them both deeply, in and out. Tuesday, August 4, 2015. All my life, I've viewed vocational challenges as exciting opportunities to grow. When "No." is the answer to, "Do I have experience doing this? I seldom view it as a conversation-ending answer, but as a possible beginning point for a new adventure. “No.” may really mean “Not yet.”. 169; 2015 Todd Jenkins. August 5, 2015 at 3:26 AM. Helpful way to put things. I am at such a point as well.

Monday, July 23, 2012. Seasonal Salads with an Indian Twist. Doug and I cook a ton of Indian food, and I love it. I find all those spicy curries and soupy lentil dishes equally appealing in the hot summer or frozen winter. But no matter the season, I crave something fresh and crunchy to balance their soft warmth. And for that, let me present my favorite go-to Indian salads. Both salads come together in a flash and are the perfect foil for a spicy Indian meal. Adapted from Sanjeev Kapoor. 1/2 tsp sea salt.
