Growing Our Story

Thursday, August 6, 2015. The kids are back in school! They are just about finished with their first full week and I am so proud of how well they are doing. Bigdog was pretty excited to go back to school. He loved getting new crayons and school supplies and shoes. He couldn't wait to play with friends at recess and eat lunch at school. So far, he hasn't been disappointed. She dreaded going back to school for the whole week before, and especially the two days before. It was sad. Once she is there ...I thi...

Growing Our Story: May 2015

http://growingourstory.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 24, 2015. First Retreat of the Summer. Before our next little bundle of joy comes, I really wanted to make it to the mountains once, so we did. It was only for a few hours, but there was a fire, a stream, rocks to climb on, and dinner. And it wasn't too cold. What more can you ask for? Links to this post. Thursday, May 21, 2015. Here is what has been going on at our place for the past few weeks. I made these peanut butter cupcakes for family home evening one night. FYI- Reeses cups do not...

Growing Our Story: March 2015

http://growingourstory.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Check it out. I even put a picture of me pregnant online. Brave, right? But what is a post without a picture? It looks like I am advertising my cell phone. Well, folks, my pregnancy is marching on. I am now 6.5 months along and looking a lot more than that, in my opinion. About a month ago the kids started to really notice and comment on my growing tummy. Then over the next four weeks my size kind of exploded. Now I look.large. Links to this post. Growing Our Story: Living Life

http://growingourstory.blogspot.com/2015/07/living-life.html

Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Our baby is growing like a weed. Or maybe a pumpkin. He has gained nearly a pound a week and is now tipping the scales at almost thirteen pounds! The older kids are still champs with the baby. They still like to hold him and kiss him and hug him. There have been no jealousy issues. They just love him. It is a beautiful thing to see. I love how in the picture above they are sleeping in the same position. It wasn't planned. There were the four in the bed and the little one said.

Growing Our Story: Happy Birthday Scooter

http://growingourstory.blogspot.com/2015/07/happy-birthday-scooter.html

Sunday, July 26, 2015. Our precious Scooter turned four! For his birthday we started the morning with cake (actually cookies) and presents. Who doesn't like cookies for breakfast? I wanted Scooter to feel special, so the night before I put up a few decorations around the table and set out his presents. He definitely appreciated my efforts. He kept admiring the decorations and announcing with excitement that it was his birthday! One of Scooter's presents was a scooter. He is getting the hang of it, as...

now what do i say?: December 2014

http://nowwhatdoisay.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Now what do i say? Thursday, December 4, 2014. Paul and I decided to fit as much into our year living near DC as we possibly could. so that included spending the evening of the fourth of July on the national mall with 700,000 or so of our nearest and dearest. or nearly a million strangers. We got there near sunset, and found a little spot to set up our blanket. Asher wanted desperately to wander around and meet everyone, he did succeed in making friends with everyone around us. And yes, the hooligans wer...

Now what do i say? Tuesday, January 7, 2014. So the kids and I made a deal back in Aug-Sept sometime that if they could get the playroom, living room and their bedroom all clean, as in really-truly-organized-picked up-vacuumed-etc-clean, then they could have a reward. something special and fun to play with. and along about Thanksgiving time they did it! Generally not allowed at our house, cause we have such a hard time getting them all picked back up after playing with them). Monday, January 6, 2014.

Growing Ourselves | into Wholeness

The Power of Place. Posted by Lesley Irene Shore. Asymp; Leave a comment. In Medfield, a small suburban town 45 minutes from Boston, you spot the Harmony Farm sign hanging from a tree and know you have arrived. You also note the presence of a For Sale sign. Turning into the driveway, you hear the wheels humming a different tune as they move from harsh black macadam to gentle gravel. The sound of cars fades into the distance. This must be it, you think, as you park your car and enter the building. You...
