The world according to Scott H. View my complete profile. One thing that few people know about me is that I like to make my own jams and preserves. I grow a lot of my own food, and jams and preserves are a great way to use surpluses at the end of the season. This photo shows some of my recent efforts: there's my old reliable green tomato relish, my berry and rhubarb jam, tangy strawberry jam, a new one I can't wait to try, spicy tomato and ginger jam, and my three fruit marmalade (lemon, lime and kumquot).

The world according to Scott H. View my complete profile. Afternoon tea review: Conservatory at Crown. Today we braved the hordes of tourists in shorts and fanny packs admiring the gloomy glitz of Crown Casino (where there was a crowd-pulling Christmas extravaganzza show seemingly every 5 minutes, despite it being 2 days after Christmas) to try afternoon tea at the Conservatory restaurant. The world according to Scott H. View my complete profile. Afternoon tea review: Mint Hotel, Manchester. We stayed for a couple of nights at the simple but lovely Mint Hotel. Growing Our Own

Tuesday, 23 July 2013. Every man needs a shed. The single most annoying thing about living in the house we do is the fact that out garage isn't directly next to the house, instead it's in a block at the far end of the row of houses. Most irritating about this is the fact that all our gardening equipment and tools are therefore just that little bit too far away to be truly handy. The roof went on last which was the moment of truth with regards how flat and square the. Structure was and it soon became appa...

The Power of Place. Posted by Lesley Irene Shore. Asymp; Leave a comment. In Medfield, a small suburban town 45 minutes from Boston, you spot the Harmony Farm sign hanging from a tree and know you have arrived. You also note the presence of a For Sale sign. Turning into the driveway, you hear the wheels humming a different tune as they move from harsh black macadam to gentle gravel. The sound of cars fades into the distance. This must be it, you think, as you park your car and enter the building. You...

Thursday, August 6, 2015. The kids are back in school! They are just about finished with their first full week and I am so proud of how well they are doing. Bigdog was pretty excited to go back to school. He loved getting new crayons and school supplies and shoes. He couldn't wait to play with friends at recess and eat lunch at school. So far, he hasn't been disappointed. She dreaded going back to school for the whole week before, and especially the two days before. It was sad. Once she is there ...I thi...
