Grandchildren, Gardening, Genealogy. Sitting at the computer this morning, the heat can be felt through closed blinds and shutters. Many of the cards decorating the house show scenes of snow and sleds, holly and hellebores. Today I will be celebrating with our family. The temperature is expected to reach 35C/95F. In Melbourne we usually find relief from a southerly cool change after a few very hot days and this is usually the pattern through the summer months. Steel stringers and hardwood treads all to code. Used the timber salvaged from the St Agnes creek bridge as the first step. Not quite the 'Stairway to Heaven', but close enough.
