Circa GMT: Happy holidays
http://circagmt.blogspot.com/2008/09/happy-holidays.html
Journeys to the other side of the world. We are off to Europe for an autumn holiday. Our previous two trips have been in spring and we are keen to see another season which is a novelty, after living for many years in the tropics. I have started a new blog for this trip as it is somewhat separate from my everyday prickle-farming life on Gums and Grass. And may not be as sustainable. Bon voyage and I hope you enjoy the trip. No more excuses, time to get out and see the other side of the world and report back. Thursday, 16 February 2012. Getting back to nature at Gumnut Valley. Summer time and the living is easy. My day started with a 6am walk around the area and, with Mum's new course on bird watching a topic of discussion, I heard lots of wonderful bird calls but few that I could identify. I hope to take her along next time to help me and see what we can see to match the songs. 19 February 2012 at 12:21 am. Cat's Cradle - K...

No more excuses, time to get out and see the other side of the world and report back. Thursday, 25 August 2011. I can't count the number of times I've been asked this in the past 2 years. It is a one word question, always coupled with a Dutch accent. The common variant is "you are English? This happened five times today as I wandered around the university's information market in town. It was worth it though, as I picked up a free frisbee from one of the stands, and a free icecream from another. The Itali...

No more excuses, time to get out and see the other side of the world and report back. Monday, 28 March 2011. Conservation of writing energy. I'm compensating for the decreasing volume of blogging in the past year with an increase in volume of other, more academic writing. I'm currently drafting my next paper, for submission in April, making that my 3rd journal article in the past 12 months (plus 2 conference papers and other minor essays). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). No more excuses, time to get out and see the other side of the world and report back. Saturday, 31 December 2011. Looking forward, looking back. The sparkling shiraz is chilled as we prepare to end 2011 with a happy hour at Gumnut Valley. A bit of reflection before popping the cork: I think I've learned a lot this year, and I want to use my new knowledge to develop skills and make the most of my situation, whatever that's going to be. No more excuses, time to get out and see the other side of the world and report back. Tuesday, 8 November 2011. Touring the world of music, one composer at a time. I'm diverging from Mum's selection (Rameau) this week, as I don't have any of his music. Instead I've loaded 4 Sibelius symphonies, after hearing a snippet during a podcast that stuck in my mind. The land that was created from the sea. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Touring the world of music, one composer at a time. View my complete profile.
