Sunday, July 12, 2009. Psalm 130: Friendly Distance. With you there is forgiveness;. Therefore you are feared. I am terrified every time. We get together. It can be. Years in between, and there is a. Lot of water under that bridge. I don't fear that you will have changed. And I know that my changes will. Be accepted with sincere grace. I trust the time between our lives. What I fear is your love- without. The friendly distance of facades. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Smiths in Manila: January 2007
http://manilasmiths.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 23, 2007. When we found out we were moving to the Philippines, I bought a ‘teach yourself Tagalog’ book. I was already up to chapter four before we even left NZ! Oh, the motivation that I had. Couldn’t wait to be fluent within a year of arriving. Life happened. There seemed to be plenty on my plate. I was disappointed in myself for not making more of an effort with the language. And they were still doing much better than I had done! Not only does Lisa know grammar, but she knows the ling...

Smiths in Manila: September 2006
http://manilasmiths.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 28, 2006. I heard a mighty crash, and looked on the ground - it looked like the bonnet from a car, but I couldn't tell, as we're 11 stories up. Someone picked it up off the road. Luckily no one was under it! Looking out the window the other way, we saw some curtains from 2 floors up fluttering in the wind. Either the wind had sucked them out the small open windows at the top of their living room glass wall, or a whole pane of glass had fallen out of their living room! Now here we are,...

Smiths in Manila: August 2006
http://manilasmiths.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 31, 2006. After nearly two weeks of living in our apartment building, we finally got a swim in the pool! The day before we arrived, it had been drained for annual cleaning, but today it was all go, and I think the girls and I were the first ones in! We were there by 8am, and it was a very pleasant time indeed. The sun wasn't high enough to be directly on us, but it was definitely warm enough to swim! Posted by Smiths in Manila @ 9:44 PM.
