Wallsend

http://hadrianswall.org.uk/forts/wallsend/wallsend.htm

Panoramic view of Wallsend. The fort at the end of the Wall. Four miles east of Newcastle upon Tyne, Hadrian's Wall comes to an end. It's not quite at the sea - Tynemouth is still 4 miles further on, but here the River Tyne is broad enough to allow the Wall to come to an end. Here there is a fort known appropriately as Wallsend from which a short further stretch of wall runs down to the river. This is the dressing and exercise room. Here inside the bathhouse is the apodyterium. Although it is in fact the...

Chesters

http://hadrianswall.org.uk/forts/chesters/chesters.htm

Great Wall - Ancient China

http://www.ancientchina.org.uk/great-wall

Where the concubines lived. Beijing: how the palaces really worked. Pingyao and the Global Heritage Fund. Zhenguo and Shuanglin temples. Ancient China Wendy Wu. The Great Wall is often touted as being the eighth wonder of the world but is it? Visiting the Great Wall of China is something of a conundrum. Why was it so big, and how effective was it? Which I know quite well. But what a difference there was! The Great Wall at Badaling. Note its great width with up to a dozen people able to march abreast.
