Culinary adventures from a chef's perspective. For some reason, I have always held waffles in very high regard among breakfast foods. This is by far - and I've done quite a bit of testing - the best recipe for waffles. Add nuts, spices, fruit or any flavorings you desire to make your waffles special. This recipe is a blank canvas. Recipe makes 4 waffles). 2 eggs, separated (yolks in one bowl, whites in another). 1 1/2 cups milk. 1 T Canola oil. 1/4 tsp. Vanilla extract. 2 cups, AP flour. 1 T Canola Oil.

Gastronome: Sharper than Ever
http://austingastronome.blogspot.com/2009/04/sharper-than-ever.html
Culinary adventures from a chef's perspective. Over the past couple of years I have developed my skill using Japanese whetstones to sharpen, polish and hone knives to an amazing degree. I am often asked about sharpening others' knives as many lack either the knowledge or the equipment to do so properly and achieve the best results. Get those knives back in the shape they deserve, your arms and your food will thank you. April 15, 2009 at 10:09 AM. Thanks so much, Chris! April 30, 2009 at 1:53 PM. For a mi...

Monkey Tail: Antique Shave Mug
http://monkeytail1.blogspot.com/2008/07/antique-shave-mug.html
Shaving with a cutthroat razor. Wednesday, July 30, 2008. T&V Limoges, France. I happened upon this mug at an antique dealer's last week. No, I don't collect these. I just wanted a nice old shaving mug to keep my Old Spice mug company. I have some triple milled french shaving soaps that just feel too "dainty" to throw into the Old Spice mug (which nowadays holds, what else, HBS Old Spice shave soap). Personalized Shave Mug was a Barbershop Necessity. By Ralph and Terry Kovel. Every Victorian barbershop h...

Monkey Tail: My New Blog
http://monkeytail1.blogspot.com/2008/07/my-new-blog.html
Shaving with a cutthroat razor. Saturday, July 26, 2008. My main blog, was starting to get overrun by shaving posts. In an effort to consolidate the vast, but widespread, online information about straight shaving, I thought I would create this new blog.
