It’s been a frantic start to the year! Extreme sports - lift capers. Things to do in an elevator (go on - you know you want to.):. 1 when there's only one other person in the elevator, tap them on the shoulder and then pretend it wasn't you. 2 push the buttons and pretend they give you a shock. 3 ask if you can push the button for other people, but push the wrong ones. 4 hold the doors open and say you're waiting for a friend. after a while, let the doors close and say 'hi greg, how's your day been? 9 ask, 'did you feel that?

edinburgh dreaming: sleb spotting
http://thethingshedoes.blogspot.com/2005/07/sleb-spotting.html
These are the famous people that i have spotted on my travels. the criteria for a good 'spot' is that slebs must have been seen away from their natural habitat (seeing alan shearer play football doesn't count). Those in bold are the ones i've spoken to. Michael grade outside BBC new broadcasting house. Alan bennett at kings cross station. Nicola sturgeon in craigmillar, edinburgh. Anneka rice in caffe locano in edinburgh. Andy robinson (scotland rugby head coach) jogging in edinburgh. Keiron o'brien in f...

Moving in is easy cos you're bloomin' massive. Had the week off last week (expect wednesday) to move in to our new house. spent saturday with the poker who laid the kitchen floor for us whilst I did a lot of observations. sunday involved hiring a nice big luton van from arnold clark and heading, "long distance clara" style to newcastle to empty my folks garage. Posted by flobbergobber at 12:29 pm. Moving out is easy cos you're really small. Decent food from the carvery. No tea or mince pies. Saw us throu...

edinburgh dreaming: change of outlook
http://thethingshedoes.blogspot.com/2010/04/change-of-outlook.html
Therefore, after watching eddie izzard run around the uk i decided it was time for things to change. i thought that if somebody who had no history of running could do something like that then i could try my hand at running around my village. The argument i had up my sleeve was that i played football in goal anyway, so unless they fancied a stint in the sticks then keep quiet! In about 10 minutes. Since then i have adapted my route, covering 1.5 miles every other night for three weeks. on sunday m...And, ...

We then walked from Kings x thameslink to kings x main to find the tickets we had weren't valid for our onward journey (another 9 each). it was nice to see the sense of humour on our rail system - a luggage trolley was sticking out of a wall with the notice above it 'Platform 93/4'. didn't have time to take a photo. We had a couple of pints in duty free with a tasty ham and mozarella panini with chips and salad. the plastic cutlery was a sad (but necessary) addition to the meal. We had a very busy weekend.

We were asked last night by Fi to go to see a lecture by Barry Roberts. A mountaineer who her boyfriend, Tim, knows. he is a mountain guide and polar expeditionist who recommended it, so because over the last couple of years i've read loads of non-fiction mountaineering books such as touching the void. Between a rock and a hard place. And into thin air. I thought i'd enjoy it. mrs bhaji can't make it, but I say sod that, that's what i say! I'll let you know if it was any good. I'd thoroughly recommend th...

edinburgh dreaming: toon barmy
http://thethingshedoes.blogspot.com/2011/04/toon-barmy.html
Made it back down to newcastle yesterday with a colleague who had invited me to the newcastle v man utd game. it was a 60th birthday gift for him from his daughter who is a friend of one of the players. we got very good seats as well as passes to the player's lounge. The match itself was a little drab in parts but a point against man u is always good. the players/celebs we saw are as follows:. Ant, from ant and dec. Angus louchrin (statto from fantasy football league). Posted by flobbergobber at 12:56 pm.
