Head Stuffing: September 2013
http://headstuffing.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 14, 2013. I think Mother Nature must be going through menopause. Hot flashes one day, cold flashes the next; and the gusty winds and thunderstorms. But this morning the air is still and the sky is blue. And the sun light is bright with a slight tint of orangey yellow. The dew that dropped out of the sky has coated everything on the ground with a thick coat of wet. I guess it's time to consider that summer is over and fall is starting. But not yet, at least not today. There's a humming...
Head Stuffing: July 2015

Sunday, July 19, 2015. This summer has been really busy. Here in Windsor, I think a new rainfall record was set for the month of June. But it never really impacted the fast-pitch softball schedule of practices and tournaments of the travel team my daughter’s play for. So we stayed really busy. So our home has suffered for it. I still need to open the pool. I know, we are in the second half of July now. I know. But it just keeps raining. But not today. This is my first weekend to attack these chores. ...

Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Pitching to Towering Redheads. This story is true, I swear it's true, especially the parts I made up. My daughters' fast pitch team played a tournament in middle Michigan last weekend. In the first game of the tournament, they faced their toughest challenge in a team wearing red jerseys. These girls were at the older end of the age bracket with fourteen and fifteen year old girls. Our team was a year or two younger. Alannah threw her best pitches at her, but the third pitch caught ...

Thursday, July 25, 2013. Sometimes it's just inevitable. Sometimes you just can't win for losing. But, then again, sometimes the line between winning and losing is blurred. Last night, my little Gold '99 fastpitch team was in the semi-final game to see who would go one to play in the championship game. It was a very close battle. The first out was made at first base, the player picking up a ground ball down first base line and the runner beaten to the bag. But she didn't tag the runner. No she didn't....

Saturday, May 31, 2014. Time Enough For Me. Again another summer is rolling into our little burg on the cusp both Canada and the United States – nestled into a quiet corner along the bordering Detroit River. The breeze is warmer each morning as I sit on the back deck by the pool listening to the water flow around the pools edge, the ever so gentle hum of the pump that moves it. And of course, my faithful black lab Suzy, yet another year older, laying on the deck at my feet. There's just so much going on.

Renaissance Man: Tumble Dryer Remote Display - Part I
http://lordgu.blogspot.com/2013/11/tumble-dryer-remote-display-part-i.html
Stuff I just would like to share. It all starts here. Friday, November 8, 2013. Tumble Dryer Remote Display - Part I. When the Raspberry Pi became available. With the Raspberry Pi, I bought a cover. For it, some small breadboards, kind of stocked up on basic electronic components and started playing around with what so far has been one of the greatest features this computer offers: the GPIO connector. A complete, Linux-based. Almost anything. Like a tumble dryer. Laziness can be a wonderful thing! Chines...
ProjecTalk: The Next Big Shift In the Collaboration Paradigm
http://projectalk.blogspot.com/2010/03/next-big-shift-in-collaboration.html
Friday, March 12, 2010. The Next Big Shift In the Collaboration Paradigm. Imagine being able to send out a single message to a large group of people to solicit a yes or no answer, or to pick one option out of list of several options – and have that single message track all the responses for you in one quick view. Imagine being able to hold a debate – and allowing everyone invited to the debate to weigh in with their opinions – within the container of a single message. Not any of those means of collaborat...

Tigers Baseball Outsider: January 2012
http://tigersbaseballoutsider.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
A thinking fan's perspective. Saturday, January 28, 2012. Fielder Only Makes Tigers Stronger - Way Stronger. You’ve already heard that Prince Fielder – National League All Star, MVP contender, Home Run contender and son of Tiger great Cecil Fielder – has been signed to a 9 year 214 million dollar contract to play 1. Base for our Detroit Tigers. We built this team around Cabrera! Yep, well now we have two. Well, which one is better? Good question – that call can go either way! They are both great. Cabrera...

Stuff I just would like to share. It all starts here. Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Welcome To The Shark Pool, Part 1. Welcome and thank you for joining me! Still But who knows. As Bob Dylan already stated: 'The Times They Are A-Changin' . Though I hope that I'm not - who knows? No, of course I'm not! We were so passionate about making things work for our colleagues and for the company, it has been pure pleasure. We just did it. That was then. Who cares about "fair"? Who cares about "working atmosphere"?

Stuff I just would like to share. It all starts here. Saturday, May 30, 2009. The Runner, Part 3. Even though I didn't write about it for a couple of weeks (well, yes, two months already), there has been progress. A small kickback too, because of a bad cold I had cought, but things like that happen, don't they? Anyway. As predicted I gave third week's plan that extra loop. Same happend with fourth week's program - which looked like that:. Running: 4x 6:00 minutes, intermediate walking: 1:30 minutes.

Tigers Baseball Outsider: April 2010
http://tigersbaseballoutsider.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
A thinking fan's perspective. Sunday, April 25, 2010. Eighteen played and three behind. We are not quite half way to the first season milestone. Sparky Anderson's forty game mark. The boy's of the old English D have two more game in Texas, then head home to Comerica Park to face Minnesota for a three game set. On this day of the 19. Game to be played the Tigers are three games behind the Twins. This is where many predict the Tigers will finish the season at. But 89% of the season still to play. Brandon I...

A thinking fan's perspective. Tuesday, September 7, 2010. We’ll Get ‘Em Next Year – But This Year’s Still Fun. Brenan Boesch and Miguel Cabrera celebrate. Here we sit on September 7, and the Tigers are 13 games back of the Minnesota Twins for the lead of the AL Central. 95 games behind the Chicago White Sox for second place in the division. 105 games ahead of Kansas City and 11 games ahead of Cleveland. There are 24 games left to play in the 2010 regular season. I didn't predict Scherzer's turnaround.

Saturday, September 02, 2017. It’s interesting how the generation gap makes itself evident every once in a while. Sometimes it’s even kind of awkward. Such was the case this evening. So I switched the setting of my app to simply play random selections in “shuffle mode”. I’m driving in my car …. I turn on the radio …. I start pulling you closer …. At that point my youngest daughter Ashley-Rae comes out, bored from a summer day with nothing to do, and sits down beside me. I’m driving in my car …. No …...
