Lawrence's Ramblings: Holy Saturday
http://lawrencesramblings.blogspot.com/2011/04/holy-saturday.html
Saturday, April 23, 2011. Some times I sit and wonder what it must have been like for the followers of Christ on the day between Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday. But no, instead, I imagine there was silence. I imagine that they all sat together, each in their own world as they remembered what had just happened to their teacher and friend. I would imagine quiet sobs sounding throughout their fellowship as each sought to find a way to deal with his death. I imagine a world that was not ready. I have a ...

Lawrence's Ramblings: Why St. Patrick's Day is Important to Me
http://lawrencesramblings.blogspot.com/2010/03/why-st-patricks-day-is-important-to-me.html
Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Why St. Patrick's Day is Important to Me. Saint Patrick's Day is a great holiday because you get to wear green, listen to great irish music and reflect on the man behind the holdiay- the great missionary, Saint Patrick. But March 17 is much more than Saint Patrick's Day to me. On March 17, 2002, I got baptized at Olive Chapel Baptist Church in Apex, NC. This was a great day! I still remember going under the water that day and then, as I came up, slipping on the floor of the bap...

Sunday, February 28, 2010. Final Day of SYMC 2010. This has been an amazing weekend! There really are no words to describe this experience. The things I learned have been so great and I can't wait to take them home and find ways to implement them into my youth ministry! What an awesome thing to be able to experience first hand. I need to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who got us here- whether through financial things or by prayer- I think it will pay off in our group in the future. I hope I can ret...

Sunday, November 9, 2008. Mawidge is a dweam. Mawidge is a dweam wiffin a dweam". If you have ever seen The princess bride. You would know exactly what part that is from. Luckily for me I have a wonderful husband who let me name our blog after one of the greatest love stories ever. The book is rather tedious, I strongly suggest just watching the movie. http://lawrenceandheatherpowers.blogspot.com/2008/12/new-addition-to-our-family.html
Wednesday, December 10, 2008. New Addition to Our Family! We got a dog! She is a two year old German Shepard/Terrier Mix - SHE IS SMALL! Her name is Maggie and we adopted her from the Wake County Animal Center in Raleigh. The last time I (Lawrence) was at that place, my mom and I were dropping off my favorite dog Mandy (a black lab) who could not stay in the fence at home. we dropped her off when I was in 8th Grade. She is house trained and does not bark- which is good! She is also very sweet!

Lawrence's Ramblings: January 2010
http://lawrencesramblings.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 29, 2010. To Save A Life. This past weekend, I took the youth group to see the newly released movie, "To Save A Life." (To see the trailer, look at the widget below.). The movie presents a lot of the issues that teens are dealing with today such as: suicide, cutting, depression, drugs, alcohol, abortion, and divorce. These things were eye-opening for many across the country and many in my group, but that is not the thing that struck me the most. In a world where churches are losing studen...
