the giraffe life: My Maternity Wardrobe
http://thegiraffelife.blogspot.com/2015/08/my-maternity-wardrobe.html
Monday, August 10, 2015. Most of my maternity wardrobe. One thing I've really struggled with this pregnancy is getting dressed! Sounds silly, right? It's tough to find blog posts about how much maternity clothing you'll actually need because it's so personal. What one person considers appropriate work attire or "enough" doesn't always match your situation. So I figured I'd throw my experience out there :). Here's what I've bought and my thoughts! Changing the stories we tell ourselves | cakes, tea and dreams

Cakes, tea and dreams. Savoring the beauty in the everyday. Laquo; September reading roundup #3. Books I’ve Abandoned Recently. Changing the stories we tell ourselves. October 2, 2013 by katieleigh. I reread Eleanor’s lovely novel this spring. And this quote (near the end of the book, after one character has finally faced up to her mistakes) has stayed with me. It struck me the first two times I read. For the first two years of my life in Boston, I told myself this story about it: Boston is a strange, di...

the giraffe life: Gender Predictions from Old Wives' Tales
http://thegiraffelife.blogspot.com/2015/07/gender-predictions-from-old-wives-tales.html
Monday, July 13, 2015. Gender Predictions from Old Wives' Tales. Mr G and I aren't finding out early if our baby is a boy or a girl - we're happy to wait until the baby is born. Of course I've heard a lot of predictions (adamant predictions! So I thought I'd go through some old wives' tales for fun. Nausea = girl, little/no nausea = boy. For me: on/off nausea depending on the day = girl. A chart matching your age and month of conception. Over 140 bpm = girl, under 140 bpm = boy. Monday, July 13, 2015.

the giraffe life: Homemade Vegetarian Hamburger Helper
http://thegiraffelife.blogspot.com/2013/07/homemade-vegetarian-hamburger-helper.html
Monday, July 29, 2013. Homemade Vegetarian Hamburger Helper. When I first moved out on my own, I had plenty of cooking experience with rice, pasta, vegetables, and cookies. But cooking meat? The best I could do was microwave sausage links or heat up chicken nuggets in my toaster oven. I've never liked the look or feel of raw meat (especially anything with a bone or a shell, because it reminded me that whatever I was holding used. To be alive). So I just avoided it. Homemade Vegetarian Hamburger Helper.

Monday, June 23, 2014. The family that cycles together. Gets fit, firm thighs together? I impressed myself yesterday by riding with my three boys to and from my parents' house. If this strike ever bloody ends and I get to go back to work, maybe I'll ride to and from school, too. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Welcome to Pughs' News. I hope you enjoy it. Pughs' News: Lush, green thumb, family stroll
http://pughs-news.blogspot.com/2015/04/lush-green-thumb-family-stroll.html
Sunday, April 26, 2015. Lush, green thumb, family stroll. My Sunday evening 3BT:. 1 My mom and I went on a bit of a shopping spree at Lush yesterday. I can't wait for a soak in the tub with my Brightside bubble bar tonight. It smells of orange blossoms! 2 I planted a brand new bed of flowers in the side yard this afternoon. Felt good to get my hands dirty, and it was satisfying to see the results of my work. I'm going to sit on the deck this summer and admire those gorgeous blooms. That's #4 for sure :).

Pughs' News: It's not all bad
http://pughs-news.blogspot.com/2014/06/its-not-all-bad.html
Tuesday, June 17, 2014. It's not all bad. Things have been pretty stressful around here lately. I've been letting my anxiety get the better of me, and it can be so difficult to shake the negative mindset once I've immersed myself in it. But seriously, what is the point? Being angry and sad and worried isn't going to get me anywhere I want to be. Screw that! So, here I am with 3BT {three beautiful things} to end this day on a positive note, and maybe drift off to sleep a bit faster, too. 08/30 - 09/06 (1).
