This abandoned section of railway (and area where the station and homes once stood) is now an Athens Rails to Trails near Moonville Tunnel. This old coal town once boasted a general store, homes, a school. Coal tipple and a post office. The post office became defunct in 1892. However, this unique wooden tunnel remains, a reminder of the industry once scattered around an area that is mostly wilderness now. Located along King Hollow Rd, 3.1 miles from State Route 278 near Lake Hope State Park.
