It turned out to be a GREAT weather day. Cool morning breeze. We had 37 hikers. We went into 2 separate groups. Joe led one group and I led the other group. Amazingly all finishing at the same time. Friday, July 25, 2014. July 24, 2014 Buffalo Rock State Park. When the severe storm came through on June 30th, it really did some damage. About 90% of the trails at Starved Rock State Park are closed. Fortunately we have 2 other state parks. We haven't been to Buffalo Rock State Park in awhile so off we went. 29 hikers and 2 dogs. Enjoy! Entry sign to the park. Titled " Effigy Tumuli. In tribute to the Native American burial grounds that inspired it, this unique " earth art. West end of Buffalo Rock.

Sunday, March 29, 2015. March 26, 2015 - Illinois, Kaskaskia, Ottawa Canyons and Council Overhang. Today we had 25 hikers and 1 dog. I was very surprised there wasn't more. It was a little chilly but the sun was shining. We all carpooled to the Illinois Canyon parking lot and walked into Illinois Canyon. Getting a bit impatient with the wildflowers. I just love to see the new ones peeking through. False Rue Anemone. The white section of the wall recently fell. See following photo. See the hiking boot?
