Chandler and Claire actually getting along. Chandler posing in front of Devil's Courthouse, NC. Chandler and I literally got blown all over Silvermine Knob near Shining Rock, NC. Welcome to the Grand Canyon Page

http://hikingfool.com/grandcanyon.html

Grand Canyon, AZ January 2004. Click on a picture to see a larger photo. The mule deer along the trail were quite accustomed to hikers as I had to excuse myself in order to pass them. These two bridges allow a loop hike into and out of the canyon via two different routes. There is water available at the campsite in between them. Climbing out of the canyon is quite a pull but the view over your shoulder is worth it. It's a long way out. It's still. a long way out.

Welcome to the Snowbird Wilderness Area Page

http://hikingfool.com/snowbird.html

Snowbird Wilderness Area, NC March 2000. Click on a picture to see a larger photo. The view down Big Snowbird Creek. This is a great trout stream. The trail crosses the creek numerous times in the loop we hiked. The water levels can rise at any time making crossings cold and treacherous. Our campsite was flat but moist the first night out. Mark's Dryad gives him a level bed regardless of terrain. King Meadows looks a little eerie in the morning fog. CLICK ON THE FOOL AT THE RIGHT TO GO BACK HOME.

Welcome to the Joyce Kilmer Wilderness Area Trip Page

http://hikingfool.com/joyce.html

Joyce Kilmer Wilderness Area, NC April 2005. Click on a picture to see a larger photo. Len stands atop the Hangover. We had the entire woods to ourselves that day due to a weather report of heavy rain. We set up camp early about a mile below the Hangover to get dried in as it had started to rain around 10 am. Despite the clouds, the rain let up about noon and allowed us to explore the ridgeline all afternoon. The rain had picked up again around 7pm and guess what we woke up to the next morning.
