Guide to the 'white village' of Torrox. Playa de El Morche. Playa de El Peñoncillo. November 6, 2010. Ferrara Playa is a very large, ‘blue flag’ beach in Torrox Costa, Málaga province. It’s a sandy beach, over 1 kilometre long and, on average, about 30 metres wide. Very popular in the summer months. At one end of the promenade, which stretches the entire length of the beach, you have the lighthouse, ‘El Faro’. Along the promenade itself you have a number of bars, restaurants and other shops.

Playa de Vilches is one of the smallest of the beaches in Torrox Costa, only about 120 metres in length and, on average, about 20 metres wide. It is a small, quiet and fairly isolated cove accessed from the N-340 coastal road. You can reach Playa de Vilches either by car or by public transport, the Malaga-Nerja bus stopping nearby. El Peñoncillo beach runs parallel to the old N-340 coastal road and is about 1,400 metres long and, on average, about 20 metres wide. The area is semi-urban and the beach is, shall we say, ‘rustic’. There are a number of restaurants and chiringuitos along the length of the beach, including El Ancla, Al Manzur and Merendero Costa del Sol.
