Consumerism, A global dialect.: Allan Kaprow's Happenings and todays' Reinvention.

Consumerism, A global dialect. Friday, February 4, 2011. Allan Kaprow's Happenings and todays' Reinvention. I definitely agree- he seemed very focused on creating art that couldnt stay the same, which is quite different from the the traditional historical view of art (i.e. one enduring image that will last forever)! I think he was aiming to redefine how art functions in society, as well as what art is.a question no one seems to have successfully found an answer for yet, unfortunately. Boom sports. Bam.

The Flow: Media Fair Use
http://jingleixiao.blogspot.com/2012/05/media-fair-use.html
Wednesday, May 9, 2012. The Failure of Fair Use and the future of Free Culture. Man Ray's photograph of Marcel Duchamp's. In general, the age of Web 2.0 provides more and more chances for people out there to take other people's stuff transforming those to their own work. While contemplating the ownership issues regarding to the phenomenon, we should really pay special attention to the aura, the idea, and the message of the work instead of blindly accusing others of copying. Evan Tracy's Blog: New Short Film In Progress
http://evanmichaeltracy.blogspot.com/2010/11/new-short-film-in-progress.html
Wednesday, November 17, 2010. New Short Film In Progress. I'm making a three minute surrealist short film. I'm really into the director, David Lynch, and I plan on drawing heavily from his works. One scene I'm very interested in is when the main character is shown walking in this industrial landscape. You can watch the clip here. The scene I'm interested in is at about 6 minutes in. This is a still of the shot. Eraserhead" David Lynch 1977. November 17, 2010 at 2:15 PM. Will you include a soundtrack?

Jessica Meismer: February 2012
http://jessicameismer.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 16, 2012. Öller is a very intriguing German artist who focuses on creating an experimental setting for his exhibit goers to put themselves into. His most famous works are slides. Exhibit goers often have to sign a waiver that does indicate there might be some serious consequences to his work. Once series, Light Wall, is a wall full of lights going on an off at a frequency of 7.8 hertz, that will more likely than not cause problems for an epileptic. Monday, February 13, 2012. Nick Olson...

Jessica Meismer: January 2012
http://jessicameismer.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 25, 2012. Video Concept and Treatment. I want to focus on what was great about her life, her family, and her home, and what it might have been like had she become a nun. Then I want to get images from my family, possibly film if there is any available/arrives in time and use that as an avenue for a walk down memory lane scene. This would include traveling to a farm. The working title is: The Letter that Could Have Changed Everything. Tuesday, January 24, 2012. Experience it for Yourself.

♛ JUST IN TIME: January 2011
http://krhyme.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 27, 2011. Man guys, I have to be balls-to-the-wall honest: I have a hard time understanding Beuys. A large part of it, I think, was due to my 3 second attention span- while watching his documentary I would continually get distracted by the 80s era special effects (as well as the random subtitles) and after listening to him for an hour, I could honestly not remember a single thing he had said. ICA, London, 1974), p.48. Ahh, but this! Connecting Beuy's work to my own.hmmm slightly mor...

♛ JUST IN TIME: rhyme on sawada, lee & boehm
http://krhyme.blogspot.com/2011/03/rhyme-on-sawada-lee-boehm.html
Friday, March 4, 2011. Rhyme on sawada, lee and boehm. So I have already talked extensively (numerous times! Sorry dudes) about Tomoko Sawada and Nikki S. Lee. Though I don't think I will continue to follow their work- not Lee's at least, I'm still trying to decide how I feel about Sawada- they were wonderful women to look at for inspiration and connections for my final project. I was surprised how easily it was to relate my (admittedly) self-centered project to other people's work! Subscribe to: Post Co...

February 17, 2012 at 7:09 PM. Agreeing with Jessica, Bonds work in psychology is very intriguing. Its easy to see art as outside of scholarship/ research, but Bond demonstrates that art is essential to other disciplines. February 20, 2012 at 5:58 PM. February 21, 2012 at 9:15 PM.
