historywithmra: June 2011

http://historywithmra.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, 23 June 2011. Do we still need to study about World War I? On the 5th May 2011, the world's last known combat veteran of World War I, Claude Choules, died in Australia aged 110. Known to his comrades as Chuckles, British-born Mr Choules joined the Royal Navy at 15 and went on to serve on HMS Revenge. Every British Curriculum School in the world will learn about WW1, but now that there are no living survivors is it relevant anymore? The year 9's have studied it this year- what do you think?

History with Mr. C

History with Mr. C. Sunday, September 21, 2014. Changing the subject, based on some of the cross-stitching projects that I have done in the last several years, it would be really nice if I could do it for a living, or at least a supplemental form of income. Unfortunately I don't think cross-stitched pictures are in high demand like painted works or sculptures. I wouldn't even know how much one of my cross-stitching jobs would be worth. What do you think? Made for one of my best friends, Matt Mahler.
