Hitting My Stride: June 2007
http://hitmystride.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
The View from the Back of the Pack. Friday, June 29, 2007. Despair No Longer, Salvation is Nigh. Thursday, June 28, 2007. Event: US Women's Triathlon Series / Subaru Sprint Triathlon. Bike: 22K (13.8 mile). Location: Naperville, IL. I was especially looking forward to this race because I was finally going to meet Tri Blogger extraordinaire and all-around cool chick Wylee. Hitting My Stride: You Say It's Your Birthday
http://hitmystride.blogspot.com/2010/12/you-say-its-your-birthday.html
The View from the Back of the Pack. Tuesday, December 28, 2010. You Say It's Your Birthday. I have days when being in my late 30s feels really. Old like when I hear teenagers asking store clerks where the legwarmers are and I'm all "um, hello, it's NOT 1986.". But mostly, I feel like this is a great age to be and I try to enjoy being young. ish. Regardless of what kind of day I'm having, I never stop feeling this way about my holiday birthday. Hitting My Stride: Not Exactly Funny 'Ha Ha' But We Laughed Anyway
http://hitmystride.blogspot.com/2010/12/not-exactly-funny-ha-ha-but-we-laughed.html
The View from the Back of the Pack. Tuesday, December 28, 2010. Not Exactly Funny 'Ha Ha' But We Laughed Anyway. Sitting around the table after a belated Christmas dinner with what's left of my mom's family, we were randomly chatting and the subject of birthdays came up (and not by me). A minute or so into the topic you could see a light go in on my mom's face. She reached across the table to get my attention and says (Ooooh how I wish I was making this up):. Hey, in case I forget, happy birthday".

Hitting My Stride: Race Report: 2009 US Women's Tri Series
http://hitmystride.blogspot.com/2009/06/race-report-2009-us-womens-tri-series.html
The View from the Back of the Pack. Friday, June 26, 2009. Race Report: 2009 US Women's Tri Series. Bike: 14.1 miles. Run: 3.1 mile (5K). I cried as I pulled out of the driveway. First time I've ever left Baby Bear to do something for myself. I know it's good and healthy and the way things ought to be and I didn't think it would bother me. I had no idea it would make me cry. But I soon got over it and went on my merry way. So I went down long enough to get the gist before I turned in. Arranged to meet my...

I finished up Ironman with a bag of Cheetos. This is it: Ironman Kentucky 2011. Accenture Chicago Triathlon, 8.26.2007. My first triathlon, after 3 months of training with Chicago Endurance Sports. Smith Mountain Lake Big Lick Triathlon, 9.22.2007. Ittle to no training between Chicago and this one, plus a very hilly course after tra. Ining in flat Chicago. But I didn’t walk any of the 6 miles, so that was an accomplishment. Oh, and check out that swim improvement! Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

I finished up Ironman with a bag of Cheetos. This is it: Ironman Kentucky 2011. Part 2 – a 6:02 bike. September 5, 2011. And it was a great addition to what was already a happy day. The first problem came with trying to put on my sports bra. Whens the last time you tried to put on a sports bra while soaking wet? I ate half of a PB&J as soon as I got on the bike. I knew that after the hour long swim I’d get hungry fast, so the first order of business was to get some food. I went by the first...I knew the ...

I finished up Ironman with a bag of Cheetos. This is it: Ironman Kentucky 2011. Part 1 – a 1:12 swim. August 31, 2011. In my bike special needs bag:. Baggie of chamois butter. In my run special needs bag:. Deodorant in a bag (because I was out of body glide tubes). Being nervous at the swim start is no excuse for looking like such a goober. Mom and Dad and Aaron were frantically snapping photos. I had my swim cap on, and pulled my goggles down on my eyes. Gave everyone one last hug and kiss and s...You c...

I finished up Ironman with a bag of Cheetos. This is it: Ironman Kentucky 2011. September 8, 2011. This is the nerdy stuff, but it’s the kind of thing I would have liked to have read before I did the race. So here it goes, feel free to skip. I tapered for 2 weeks and felt sluggish during the entire taper. My last long run was 21 miles, 5 weeks to the day before the race. My last long bike was 95 miles (hilly), 2 weeks before the race. The day of the race I ate the following:. 4:30 am – 6:30 am. Hour 3 &#...

Life observations, self-reflections, short term obsessions, and shameless plugs. Oh, and some biking, running and swimming. (Update: 2008.0615 - Minus the running and swimming :-( / 2009.0101, 2010,0312 - Still.). Sunday, September 07, 2008. Alright, so I bit. I'm now trying out Twitter. Seems to sum it best. I like the concept that life's true conversations are composed of the fragmented text we converse to each other throughout the entire day. Oh well, I shall try anyway and see if it catches on with me.

If you have an hour, will you not improve that hour, instead of idling it away? 8211; Lord Chesterfield. Okay, so I mentioned potentially entering next month's bike tour. In my last post. Hitting My Stride
The View from the Back of the Pack. Monday, June 18, 2012. Taking My Ego for a Ride. Cross posted to ShesAlwaysWrite. I got my racing bike off the trainer, dusted it off and cautiously pumped tires that have been flat since last spring, when my OB laughingly informed my non-stop puking self that I was pregnant. Here's what I learned:. A) Headwinds still suck. B) Holy shitballs Batman, I am out of shape. 3) See A and B. Legs: But. but. complicated pregnancy! Puked every day for 9 months! Hardest part is r...
