Holmfirth Art and Music. Holmfirth, “the Festival Town” features a series of Festivals throughout the year from the Brass Band weekend in April to the Musical Festival in October. The Holmfirth Musical Festival was founded in the 1940s, the Holmfirth Choral Society in the 1930s and the Holme Valley Brass Band Contest can trace its roots back to the 1920s.
