Home)making it up as we go. And celebrating (with cookies) every victory along the way. Friday, August 1, 2014. My Dear Dinah,. This morning we decided to make a little something as a 'thank you' for some friends. I suggested we make cards, but you thought that pink cookies. Would be a good idea. Well that sounded like a swell idea to me, so we did some research and came up with a scrumptious looking recipe from a website called Cooking Classy.*. We gathered our ingredients and set to work in the kitchen.

Home)making it up as we go. And celebrating (with cookies) every victory along the way. Saturday, July 12, 2014. Sky Watching, Poplars, Bee Swatters. Dear Miss Dinah and Mr. Kael,. One of our favorite things to do is to watch the sky. Especially when we go on a long drive or trip, and it's sunrise or sunset time, I tell Daddy it is like watching a movie as we watch it change over a few hours. It really tells a story! Your favorite activity is pulling up to your knees. And pulling up to standing! Sky Watc...

Home)making it up as we go. And celebrating (with cookies) every victory along the way. Wednesday, June 25, 2014. It's Time to Clean Something - Anything. Today, I will let you in on a little secret. Yes, I understand that we owe you $X amount of money, but right now we aren't able to pay you. You see each month we put little slips of paper with bills we owe written on each one. Whichever one we draw out of the hat is the one that gets paid that month! Slip of paper is twice. As big this month! Hasty lif...

You can't take Kansas out of the girl, but you can take the girl out of Kansas. The fruits of my labor. July 22, 2014. August 15, 2015. Want of something sweet today, so I used some of the mulberries and raspberries to make a cobbler. I used this heirloom recipe from one branch of My Darling Husband’s family. I used unsweetened fruit, except for the sugar that was already in the cherry pie filling that I mixed with the mulberries and raspberries. It would be even better with real whipped cream. Leave a R...

a little Independence Day decorating | Life is Beautiful
https://belleisforbeautiful.wordpress.com/2014/07/05/a-little-independence-day-decorating
You can't take Kansas out of the girl, but you can take the girl out of Kansas. A little Independence Day decorating. July 5, 2014. July 8, 2014. This banner is a decoration I made from items that I already had on hand…two pieces of scrap burlap glued to make one rectangle, red and cream cotton ribbon, a bit of dowel rod, and some fishing line fashioned into a hanging loop. I traced the star shape on and then filled it in with acrylic paint. Click to email (Opens in new window). Posted in arts and crafts.

Homemakin' Girl
Whole 30. On Day 30. ]. This is my story. And like everyone's story - it's intertwined with other people's stories . but I'm writing this from where I'm at. Because it's my story. Like most people, my journey with food and health and body image and blah blah blah . has been an ongoing train wreck lol. I've run a half marathon, I've done Whole30, I've done this and that . and then "fell of the wagon" or so to speak, so many times I couldn't count them if I tried. I did what I do when things get tough....

How to be frugal
How to Live Frugally. Fun Crafts for Kids. Ideas to Save Money. Easy Recipes at Home. Things to Make at Home. How to Save $500 this month. Most people think that they live frugally. The reason that most people think that they live frugally is because most people do not go out and purchase luxury items like million dollar homes, expensive crystal, or expensive cars like BMWs. We might not splurg on these luxury items, but the fact of the matter is that we all spend a lot of money buying things. 4 cups fre...

Homemaking Joy
Yesterday's reflections, today's happiness. Sunday, November 29, 2015. When There's No Power. Yesterday, our power was out most of the day due to the ice storm. When that happens, just break out the camp stove! Thank you, Hubby, for a delicious breakfast. Thankfully, we have gas heat, so we were able to eat and stay warm. The power came back on later in the afternoon, thankful to the linemen and crews who work on our power and on our roads in these conditions! Friday, November 27, 2015. Last night, Older...

That’s right – essential oils! I was honestly flabbergasted. I had definitely heard about essential oils, but I just really didn’t think they would make that much of a difference since I had alrea...

The Homemaking Lady Bug
Friday, March 28, 2014. As you can see this was made a little "extra" green. Why you ask? Because this was a perfect St. Patrick's Day dessert. A light and zingy flavor profile to welcome or this year coax spring into coming. For the shortbread crust. 1 stick butter, softened. For the Key Lime Filling. 14 ounces (1 can) sweetened condensed milk. 2 large egg yolks. 1/2 cup fresh squeezed key lime juice. 1 teaspoon fresh grated key lime zest. To carefully spread evenly across the pan. 1/2 teaspoon sea salt.
