Homemaking Joy: November 2013
http://homemakingjoy.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Yesterday's reflections, today's happiness. Wednesday, November 27, 2013. Thursday, November 7, 2013. I had a hankerin' hit yesterday for a quesadilla. Well, my brain started churning about what-all we had on hand, and I came up with a plan. Hubby asleep (works nights), Younger Son at school, and Older Son was home on a day off. So I had just enough tortillas to fix Older Son and I each a quesadilla for lunch. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Blogs I Love to Visit. The Big Power Outage. Waiting, for what?

Homemaking Joy: Strawberry Pie
http://homemakingjoy.blogspot.com/2015/07/strawberry-pie.html
Yesterday's reflections, today's happiness. Saturday, July 18, 2015. The rest, I made into the pie, and it turned out great. For the crust, I used my usual pat-in-pan recipe. 1/3 c vegetable oil. 3 Tbsp. milk. For a shell, bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. (Watch in case your oven runs hotter.). Otherwise, fill and bake as directed on recipe. 3 Tbsp. cornstarch. 1 1/2 c. water. 3 oz box strawberry Jell-O. 2 c sliced strawberries. Pre-baked 10" pie shell. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Homemaking Joy: April 2014
http://homemakingjoy.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Yesterday's reflections, today's happiness. Monday, April 28, 2014. I drove in some sprinkles on the way home. Came into town, and everything looked drenched, like the main part of that shower went right through town. As I pulled up to the house . there they were, my towels on the line! I was prepared to use the dryer, but instead was just able to fold them and put them away. "WHEW" But I'm really not upset about it . we need the rain awfully bad! And we're thankful for every drop, praise God.

(home)making it up as we go.
Home)making it up as we go. And celebrating (with cookies) every victory along the way. Friday, August 1, 2014. My Dear Dinah,. This morning we decided to make a little something as a 'thank you' for some friends. I suggested we make cards, but you thought that pink cookies. Would be a good idea. Well that sounded like a swell idea to me, so we did some research and came up with a scrumptious looking recipe from a website called Cooking Classy.*. We gathered our ingredients and set to work in the kitchen.
How to be frugal
How to Live Frugally. Fun Crafts for Kids. Ideas to Save Money. Easy Recipes at Home. Things to Make at Home. How to Save $500 this month. Most people think that they live frugally. The reason that most people think that they live frugally is because most people do not go out and purchase luxury items like million dollar homes, expensive crystal, or expensive cars like BMWs. We might not splurg on these luxury items, but the fact of the matter is that we all spend a lot of money buying things. 4 cups fre...

Homemaking Joy
Yesterday's reflections, today's happiness. Sunday, November 29, 2015. When There's No Power. Yesterday, our power was out most of the day due to the ice storm. When that happens, just break out the camp stove! Thank you, Hubby, for a delicious breakfast. Thankfully, we have gas heat, so we were able to eat and stay warm. The power came back on later in the afternoon, thankful to the linemen and crews who work on our power and on our roads in these conditions! Friday, November 27, 2015. Last night, Older...
homemakingjoyfully.com – Finding joy in homemaking in a natural, simple, Christ centered way
Finding joy in homemaking in a natural, simple, Christ centered way. June 28, 2017. I have a little {*BIG*} story to tell you! If you’ve known me for more than a few years, you know that I haven’t always been healthy. Not for lack of trying, though. In 2001, after being VERY. In 2012, my good friend, Amy. That’s right – essential oils! I was honestly flabbergasted. I had definitely heard about essential oils, but I just really didn’t think they would make that much of a difference since I had alrea...

The Homemaking Lady Bug
Friday, March 28, 2014. As you can see this was made a little "extra" green. Why you ask? Because this was a perfect St. Patrick's Day dessert. A light and zingy flavor profile to welcome or this year coax spring into coming. For the shortbread crust. 1 stick butter, softened. For the Key Lime Filling. 14 ounces (1 can) sweetened condensed milk. 2 large egg yolks. 1/2 cup fresh squeezed key lime juice. 1 teaspoon fresh grated key lime zest. Homemaking Made Easy
Friday, January 9, 2009. I know this comes a little late, but rumor (or legend or perhaps superstition) has it that eating black eyed peas on New Year's Day will bring you good luck all year. Additionally, it's a great way to use the left over ham from Christmas dinner. It's healthy, cheap, delicious and freezes well. In a large stock pot, saute. 1 large diced onion. 1 diced green bell pepper. 1 or 2 diced anaheim pepper. 1 or 2 cups diced ham. Meanwhile, sort and rinse a lb of black eyed peas. Add all i...
