Hometown Life: January 2009
http://hometownblogs.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Photos and insights from the Front Range. Tuesday, January 6, 2009. With the government scrambling to give corporate bailouts and consumers cutting back, we were wondering what is your recipe for success? Shopping at thrift stores, taking stay-cations, eating out less frequently all can save you money. You can be frugal in a tough economic climate by simply modifying items like your at-home dinner menu. Things like buying rice and beans in bulk saves money over buying individual portions of food. Old Tow...

Hometown Life: Creative enviroment
http://hometownblogs.blogspot.com/2011/01/creative-enviroment.html
Photos and insights from the Front Range. Sunday, January 30, 2011. One of the cool things about working in publishing is that you are surrounded by creative types. Writers, photographers, graphic artists are around every corner of my workplace. So many of us are in the practice of sharing our creativity, sometimes even outside of work. Recently, I had the pleasure of going to Oskar Blues. In Longmont and watching a show by the Quentin Young Band. I was there, they sounded GREAT! April 2, 2013 at 3:28 AM.

Everyday Life Through a Lens: February 2011
http://everydaylifethroughalens.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Everyday Life Through a Lens. Thursday, February 24, 2011. Wow, isn't this fun? Two of my favorite pictures of my boys - one of Tim getting ready to play the viola, and one of Jack at the beach. Downloaded Photoshop Elements 9 to try out for 30 days. I see this purchase in my future. Its facial recognition doesn't seem as good and it isn't easy to blog as far as I can tell, but I should be able to use Picasa to fill in the gaps. Saturday, February 19, 2011. Friday, February 18, 2011. So now I am mulling ...

Everyday Life Through a Lens: Metro
http://everydaylifethroughalens.blogspot.com/2011/05/metro.html
Everyday Life Through a Lens. Monday, May 9, 2011. The Orange line New Carrollton train coming into the station. Of course it is dark in the station and I had the aperture open as far as it would go (5.6), but the shutter speed was still super slow (6 seconds). If you look closely, you can see the "C" of "Carrollton" repeated in the top orange stripe. The larger yellow stripe is the window looking into the lighted train car. May 1, 2011 at 2:18 PM. Nice, I love Charleston. Buba Gump Shrimp, the market street and some of the historic neighborhoods. I took photos of this bridge from the car while riding across it, yall. :). May 1, 2011 at 2:18 PM. May 2, 2011 at 9:46 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Herndon, VA, United States.

Everyday Life Through a Lens. Sunday, January 30, 2011. This is Ginger Snap. In the first photo, she gets her first glimpse at her new home. In the second, she is hiding under a chair for the foreseeable future. Her foster dad said that she did this for about two days and then started hanging out with the people in the house, sitting with them, following them around and such. House feels like a home again. Everyday Life Through a Lens: Morning has Broken
http://everydaylifethroughalens.blogspot.com/2011/05/morning-has-broken.html
Everyday Life Through a Lens. Thursday, May 5, 2011. It is a crisp May morning, 40 some degrees and the sun is just hitting our cul-de-sac at the bottom of a wooded hill. This rhododendron(? Is beginning to emerge, and soon its red cousin will follow. The fully bloomed flower on the left is blurrier than I would like, but I am happy with the crispness of the rear two buds. I'm trying not to overthink the photographing and just get one on the blog every day. So, for today, rhododendron. This is my friend.

Everyday Life Through a Lens: This is Jack
http://everydaylifethroughalens.blogspot.com/2011/05/this-is-jack.html
Everyday Life Through a Lens. Saturday, May 7, 2011. Today we went to DC to eat at my old favorite pizza restaurant (why would I expect it to be as good 20 years later? And the Museum of Crime and Punishment. Joe and Tim did crime and punishment and Jack and I went across the street to the American Art Museum and saw the Calder exhibit and much of the rest of the second floor. It was unexpectedly not boring. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). This is my friend. Herndon, VA, United States.

Everyday Life Through a Lens: March 2011
http://everydaylifethroughalens.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Everyday Life Through a Lens. Monday, March 21, 2011. I don't know what these buds are. They are on a bush in our side yard. These flowers bloomed into fragrant, white droplets. Anyone know what they are? I like how fuzzy the background is. I know it has something to do with focal length (long) and aperture (large) but don't have the logic figured out yet.
