Welcome to Honeysuckle Haven

We bought our first small bit of heaven in 1983 and over the years have purchased land on both sides of our initial 2.5 acres. We now own just shy of 10 acres. The name we chose was derived from our fight with the Honeysuckles to reclaim the property. There were places that the honeysuckle was so thick that the vines were a good 4 inches across at the base. Over the years we have tried a lot of different things. We have raised beds in a row garden, we still use our barrels, and we also have a green h...

Container Garden

http://www.honeysucklehaven.com/containergarden.aspx

I have been container gardening since 1983. When Kerry and I got married in 1982 we knew we wanted property. We found a double wide trailer then immediately started looking for land. We found 2.5 acres and moved our trailer and that became home. Kerry didnt think the land we bought was very fertile because it had been farmed out years before so after watching many episodes of. We started our own variation. NOTE: Harvested 15 pounds out of those two barrels.). This is the third planting of them. This barr...

This is just the beds raised and ready to be planted. Notice that we have started planting some of our tomato plants in the last two pictures. You will also notice the tires lining the side of the garden. These have trash bags in them with mulch from out mulch pile. They have also been planted with potatoes. As they start to grow we will add more mulch and pull the bags up and fill them and add more tires for support. With questions or comments about this web site.

Honeysuckle Henry | The Journey of a Mother & Son

April 2, 2015 · 8:28 pm. After a hiatus…. My husband, Spencer, and I found out we were expecting our third child at the beginning of December. According to LMP, my due date would be August 5th. At my 12 week ultrasound, we found out that #3 was actually #3 and #4. I’d thought we were having twins! Also, fluid discordance became an issue. We were monitored weekly until at 16 weeks, TTTS was confirmed. After a fetal echocardiogram at UCSF, we flew to Denver, from the Bay Area, for surgery. It is actually a...

Honeysuckle Hens, pekins, hens, chicks, hatching eggs, pekin - Wakefield, West Yorkshire

How it all started! Passionate about our funny feathered friends! How it all started. We started our journey with 5 allotment chickens, one for each of us. We only wanted hens but 3 of them turned out to be cockerels! We managed to find new homes for the cockerels and went on a hunt shortly after for 3 more hens. We ended up with an amber ranger, a cream legbar and a black rock. Watching hens do their thing is sooo relaxing! Mustn't forget the black silkie and Japanese bantam! Margaret, Barrie and family.

HONEYSUCKLE HENS - Home

Welcome to my website. Keeping chickens is my hobby, it started a few years ago with just a couple of laying hens and has escalated from there. I now keep a variety of chickens and bantams including some ex-battery hens who all help to keep us supplied with fresh eggs every day. To help towards the cost of feed and a few extra treats etc, I sometimes sell hatching eggs, chicks and the occasional adult bird (if I can bear to part with one! The breeds I have include:. Lovely little balls of fluff!
