Hope for Higher Ed: How to praise a child
http://hopeforhighered.blogspot.com/2011/08/how-to-praise-child.html
Hope for Higher Ed. The coolest things I learned in college. How to praise a child. Posted by Spruce Lee. Why should we have hope for higher ed? No one goes through college without having learned some delightfully surprising facts about the world. Hunter-gatherers had a pretty light work load. Brown-eyed people see slightly better than blue-ey. Why we get the red-eye effect in flash photography. Why women get drunk faster than men. Correlation is not causation. Men dont have vaginas, but.

Hope for Higher Ed: Correlation is not causation

Hope for Higher Ed. The coolest things I learned in college. Correlation is not causation. Correlation is not causation! I've had this rule drilled into my head for years. Here's the example I'll never forget- In second graders, it was shown that the size of children's big toes was positively correlated with intelligence. But does toe size cause. Children to be smarter? No way. People were forgetting about the child's age. Posted by Spruce Lee. Why should we have hope for higher ed? How to praise a child.
Hope for Higher Ed: Blindsight
http://hopeforhighered.blogspot.com/2011/08/blindsight.html
Hope for Higher Ed. The coolest things I learned in college. There exist people who believe they are completely blind, but they can actually “see” motion with their eyes. With these blind people, you could throw a ball at them and they would be able to duck it. This ability is called blindsight. ( Biopsychology. Posted by Spruce Lee. Why should we have hope for higher ed? No one goes through college without having learned some delightfully surprising facts about the world. Correlation is not causation.

Over the Easter break we were able to bring Heyden and the family back to Give Kids The World the site of her Make A Wish. While there we visited with other families going through the same fight we had conquered 1 year ago. She was able to get a picture with her brick we purchased to always remember the generosity of the Make A Wish foundation. As of now Heyden is in remission. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported our family :). Welcome To My Site. It is safe to say she is in REMISSION!

Hope for Higher Ed
Hope for Higher Ed. The coolest things I learned in college. Hunter-gatherers had a pretty light work load. Our human ancestors have perhaps been hunter-gatherers for 95% of the history of our species, and agriculturalists for the last 5%. I was surprised to learn that the farming lifestyle actually created a lot more work for people than hunting and gathering did- early farmers would work at least 40 hours per week, whereas foragers might spend as little as 10-15 hours per week getting food! As strange ...
