Two girls, two cities, two passions for vegan cuisine, and one blog to chronicle it all! Quinoa Orange Ginger Salad. August 1, 2011 in gluten free. 2 cups dry quinoa (or 1 cup if your prefer a lower quinoa to add-in ratio). 2 navel oranges, cut into inch segments. 1/2 bunch cilantro, minced (I would say about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of minced cilantro). 1 tablespoon minced ginger. 1 tablespoon lemon juice. SoyGuy: September 2008
http://soyguy.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 16, 2008. We ate it too fast to photograph! Lance got home from school last night around 8pm and neither of us felt like something fussy for dinner. At first, I thought: bleh, another night of microwaved veggie burgers. But then, with a happy lightning bolt of inspiration, and some lovely tempeh that Lance brought home, I whipped up.drum roll. Tempeh Fajitas with Lime-Wasabi Mayo! 2 red/green peppers - cut in strips. 1 onion - cut in strips. 1 block tempeh - cut in strips. We served th...

SoyGuy: VeganMoFo - Dr. Soymilk (Or How I Learned To Love The Bean)
http://soyguy.blogspot.com/2008/10/veganmofo-dr-soymilk-or-how-i-learned.html
Wednesday, October 8, 2008. VeganMoFo - Dr. Soymilk (Or How I Learned To Love The Bean). I was a sickly, nerdy kid. You wouldn't know it now, but I was way tall and way skinny, with a big bushy head of hair, sallow complexion, and deep-set brown eyes. I was allergic to almost everything and, as I put it facetiously, all my mom fed me was blue corn cereal, soymilk, and acorn squash. Tempeh tacos, too, but it's fun to gripe. Thus started my love/hate childhood relationship with soymilk. "Ah Soy! Long story...

SoyGuy: August 2008
http://soyguy.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 31, 2008. Either way, I'm really enjoying the world of vegan desserts - or as my mom would say, "Food that you can have a cup of tea with". Recently, while my parents were visiting us, I came up with the idea to make spelt shortbread and serve it with some lovely coconut milk ice cream and balsamic strawberries. I took a whole wheat shortbread recipe. 2 cups whole grain spelt flour. 1/2 cup evaporated cane juice/organic sugar*. 1 cup Earth Balance, or similar vegan margarine, cold. Press d...

http://soyguy.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 24, 2008. I want to post and even have high res pictures of my freezer.lol. Unfortunately, my job stepped things up lately and Lance and I have had barely any time to eat, much less post about said food. In the meantime, I'll take this moment to say that we're visiting Ethos Vegan Restaurant in Orlando tonight on the way to a professional certification exam for Lance. It'll be our first time eating at Ethos, so I'm really excited. =). Tuesday, October 14, 2008. That plus veggies - voila!

SoyGuy: December 2008
http://soyguy.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 1, 2008. Anything mashed and fried in oil. I have a confession to make: I try to turn most leftovers into a pancake. If it can be mashed up and tossed into some bread crumbs, I will pan fry it and declare it an "Olde World" specialty. When I ate eggs, I would even take leftover noodles, pour egg on them, griddle them up and tell Lance that I was making chinese food. But, yeah, a few tablespoons of melted Earth Balance and some cooking time later, we had nice little puree pancakes, with c...

https://itsonthetable.wordpress.com/2008/10/01/whoa-veganmofo-is-here
Whoa, VeganMoFo is here! Happy VeganMoFo day 1, everyone! Blogging regularly is not my strong point, but I’m sure going to try. I’ve got a lot of things I want to talk about pertaining to veganism (what got me here, what’s keeping me still, the support system, eating out, etc.) so hopefully I can keep it up! The question I get asked most when I tell people I’m vegan is the ever-annoying “but. but. what do you eat? Go back to eating all that crap, knowing where it comes from. 8212; vegetarian chinese at i...

Vegan MoFo #3: Sweet Tooth | on the table
https://itsonthetable.wordpress.com/2008/10/03/vegan-mofo-3-sweet-tooth
Vegan MoFo #3: Sweet Tooth. Last weekend, we celebrated the birthday of my brother’s girlfriend. I’m used to bringing my own food to family functions now because I don’t trust that the stuff people cook will be vegan (example: the Spanish rice at the party had chicken fat in it, who knew? I knew there would be cheesecake and that got me thinking about how I could really go for cheesecake. Should I make a vegan one? 8221; and not touch it. Maybe I could make Smlove, I thought? Problem #1: In an effort to ...
