Engineering, Bikes, and Humus. Just another WordPress.com weblog. המצב … (hebrew, for “the situation”). This blog will chronicle my time racing in Israel and hopefully will keep my mind off the fact that I won’t have the pleasure to see Kyle Bruley ( http:/ huggingtheturns.blogspot.com. Race his last season with BU! I know Kyle, Im sad too. Eventually made it to the famous Bahai gardens near the center of Haifa which were truly beautiful and atop a very hard climb. I tried to motivate the group by yellin...

Racing on no sleep: November 2010
http://ajmoran.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Racing on no sleep. Monday, November 1, 2010. Program concept diagram: Adaptable Space. Although program within a building has previously gone as "form follows function", the idea which leads to building longevity is that of adaptable space. If space can adapt to hold many different functions, it will see more use and diversity within its lifetime. Empty buildings become warehouses, then offices, then art galleries, then dance studios, and so on. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Party At The Back. I'm a gradu...

Racing on no sleep: March 2009
http://ajmoran.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Racing on no sleep. Wednesday, March 25, 2009. And I'm not going to say I advocate taking your hands off the bars in a sprint finish, but to those who do it in a non-dangerous, non-sprinting situation can benefit from how to Victory Salute Like A PRO. Robby knows how to do it right. I'd like to see if there is a pic of me looking weird in an aero helmet but no TT bars. My wallet is empty, and therefore I am not making it to Philly, I also would not like to fall behind on my studio project. I'll hit W...

Racing on no sleep: February 2009
http://ajmoran.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Racing on no sleep. Wednesday, February 25, 2009. My favorite AToC pics (and others too). Also, Johan Bruyneel getting to shave Roll's head: priceless. There were some fantastic looking kits to see for this year, I had to start off with DZ's awesome US TT champ skinsuit, and the equally matching bike (all he needs is the helmet to be red white and blue). The pope gave the peloton his blessing:. Gigantic Sumo guys bounced around as their small legs moved really fast up Palomar:. And my absolute favorite, ...

Racing on no sleep. Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Image Mapping, round 2. Things I can't live without. The home and the water: Having lived and grown on an island for a significant portion of my life, I am attached to the idea of living close to the water. Photo by my good friend Sam Rosenholtz. Travel: Experiencing new places and cultures is something I have loved doing and hopefully will continue to do to broaden my view on the world and where I can fit into it. Monday, September 27, 2010. Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Slightly Less Delayed Philly Phlyer Phrace Phreport. Okay, I'm on this shit this week. No more of these Thursday reports for me, I've got it covered. My bankruptcy law class can just deal with that fact. Regardless, after meeting at 808 Comm., loading up our crap, hitting the road, and hitting up Amici's in Union, NJ:. We were even more surprised when those remaining two managed to find the tarmac with their faces on the second lap. Our D men straggled in with a multitude of ...

Velo-Ciraptor Attack: Lungomare to Campo Jemelli
http://velociraptorattack.blogspot.com/2009/09/lungomare-to-campo-jemelli.html
Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Lungomare to Campo Jemelli. I love bike racing to death, but sometimes the off-season is so damn good. It feels awesome to just jump on the bike and go for a ride without thinking about watts or time spent pushing the pedals. You may not believe this, but I didn't hear a single car horn during my entire time on the road today, and part of my ride even took me on the Autostrada (the equivalent of the MassPike for Romans)! Velo-Ciraptor Attack: October 2009
http://velociraptorattack.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 2, 2009. La Bici, le Montagne, e i Castelli Romani. Okay so I promised I would make you jealous. Prepare. The past few days I've been making some excursions out to the mountains east of Roma. They're fairly far away so it's hard to cram too many climbing adventures into a single weekend, but I get there when I can. The first one I did took me away from the coast on Via Cristoforo Colombo, toward Rome, past the remains of some seriously ancient (and still functional!
