This WordPress.com site is the bee's knees. Asymp; Leave a comment. We have read a few papers arguing a variety of theories and phenomenon. A many number of topics are very arguable, but personally speaking, when it comes to learning a (second) language CONSCIOUSLY or UNCONSCIOUSLY it becomes the most debatable as well as fascinating issue. I think it is because even its bottom line, defining and establishing clear and perfectly acceptable standards, is very challenge. Larr; Previous post.

This WordPress.com site is the bee's knees. Asymp; Leave a comment. It was unstoppable work to write something that I am very interested in. My topic for research paper was relation between personality (extroversion/intraversion) and learning second language. My curiosity to this aroused from all English lecture videos I used to watch. Why do all teachers say to go out of the library or kick off the desk? Why do they all the time say speaking a lot is the only way to learn real English? It is true withou...

In other words, can producing the L2 lead to a conscious awarenss by a learner of what he/she does not know or knows only partially? I thought learning foreign langue is very fun but learning about learning foreign language is not really. In recent days, however, I think studying about it is as interesting as learning a new language. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Response #9 – Swain and Lapkin. Noticing and being conscious of our learning and shortcomings has more than the function of a monitor. This consciousness is a very important aspect of learning in my opinion, because it can give us a greater sense of motivation by being more connected to this language that is becoming a part of who we are. Krashen, D.S. (1982). Principles and Practice in Second Language Acquisition. United Kingdom: Pergamon Press Inc. Swain, M. and Lapkin, S. (1995). On Response #8 –...

Response #8 – The Monitor Hypothesis. The third hypothesis in Krashen’s composition is the Monitor hypothesis. The Monitor hypothesis digs deeper into the initial claim stated by Krashen’s earlier Acquisition-Learning Distinction hypothesis. These hypotheses have come under much criticism, but never the less they do bring up interesting points regarding language learning. Krashen, D.S. (1982). Principles and Practice in Second Language Acquisition. United Kingdom: Pergamon Press Inc. Going back to biling...

This paper discusses the various perspectives, hypotheses, and information regarding the relationships between consciousness, unconsciousness, and second language learning, and much more in between. Some of the questions considered in this paper are ones such as: In second language learning, is the act of ‘noticing’ necessary? Overall this paper was interesting! Fill in ...
