Exploring the Pacific Northwest. Mostly posts about food, trees, and weather. Tuesday, May 19, 2009. March 23. We took the Metro in from our hotel in Silver Spring and got off at the Smithsonian stop. This takes you right up to the National Mall, directly in between the Congress building and the Washington Monument. It kind of takes your breath away. There's the Washington Monument! David touching the stone of the giant obelisk. The Monument, seen from the World War II Monument fountains.

Love Someone. | Dear Sara
https://dearestsara.wordpress.com/2012/04/22/love-someone
I live for the perfect day. An excerpt from a pretty good speech by Adrian Tan. The other side of the coin is this: fall in love. I didn’t say be loved . That requires too much compromise. If one changes one’s looks, personality and values, one can be loved by anyone. You will find, that when you have someone to love, that the face is less important than the brain, and the body is less important than the heart. Finally, you will find that there is no half-measure when it comes to loving someone. You ...

The Choices We Make. | Dear Sara
https://dearestsara.wordpress.com/2012/04/09/the-choices-we-make
I live for the perfect day. The Choices We Make. You can’t make this choice for me. You don’t get to say that I’m wasting my life, that I’m going to regret this, that you’re taking the best years of my life. Being here, being with you, THIS IS MY CHOICE. Everyday I wake up next to you and I choose to be the best possible girlfriend for you. Everyday I choose to love you, to understand you, to be there for you and to be on your side. Everyday I choose to come home to you. To the home we share.

You walk in from either direction and descend deeper and deeper into lists of names. The wall is so reflective that you see yourself and the environment superimposed over the names. It's definitely a place he returns to. The Memorial is crowded, of course, but also peaceful. We had both cameras going on this trip.

Exploring the Pacific Northwest. Mostly posts about food, trees, and weather. Wednesday, December 31, 2008. My parents came by to pick Sara up. Sara taking a picture of me taking a picture, Dad wanting to go home, and Mom trying to catch snowflakes on her tongue. Meeting Sara at MAX. The short walk was treacherous. And there she is, with only a backpack, and without a hat, of course! More shapes, ma...
