Ian's Rickshaw Blog: That's another fine mess you've gotten us into, Stanley!

http://iansrickshaw.blogspot.com/2009/09/thats-another-fine-mess-youve-gotten-us.html

Sunday, 13 September 2009. That's another fine mess you've gotten us into, Stanley! Damn, I'm jealous! Day 1 of the Rickshaw Run and the team are finally underway. And where am I? Laid up in Delhi looking like the onset of elphantitis has begun. What to do? Said complete with small head shake! Still hoping I'll be able to catch up with the guys mid route somewhere but this foot isn't exactly healing as fast as I'd like. Next stop is Bijapur! Here's what Lonely Planet have to say about the place:. Ruins a...

Friday, 18 September 2009. Day 6: Khandwa to Bhopal, 274km's. Another long day on the road today for the Rickshaw Run team. After the dusty sights in inaptly named 'Grand Hotel' in Khandwa, the team head north east through Harda and on to Hoshangabad. Here the turn left and head directly north to Bhopal and hopefully a good nights sleep! What's it all about? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Day 10: The Story So Far. Jon's Rickshaw Blog: SUMMING UP

Sunday, 24 January 2010. Daily interviews provide the narrative, the story unfolding in a completely honest, reflective and immediate way. I think we’ve come up with a totally fresh and original approach to the travel format and I think that could well be a welcome change for many viewers. Posted by What's it all about? http://shelleysrickshaw.blogspot.com/2009/09/day-eight-sagar-to-khajaraho-208km.html

Tuesday, 22 September 2009. DAY EIGHT - SAGAR TO KHAJARAHO - 208km. We promised to take better care of the lil lady today, trying to avoid the right tyre hitting any potholes in particular as she’s now a bit lopsided, poor love. Driving through Sagar town was nice, the scenery we faced after leaving was a treat too. It’s such a privilege to be so far removed from “Western civilisation”, with its high-rise buildings and stressed out people. Home now, seems very far away indeed. I think we all felt a bit s...

http://shelleysrickshaw.blogspot.com/2009/09/day-twelve-mau-to-lumbhini.html

Sunday, 27 September 2009. DAY TWELVE - MAU TO LUMBHINI. We were on the road at 7.30am today, gladly leaving Mau behind us, and hoping that our remaining time in India would paint a better lasting picture. Apparently we were nearly thrown out of the skanky hotel as one of the owners came in last night, saw a couple of us on the bed, then clocked the cameras and thought that we were going to be making a porno! The ‘shoot’! It’s been a long and sweaty day and it seems that whenever I dare wear white,...

Monday, 21 September 2009. DAY EIGHT - SAGAR TO KHAJARAHO. Such a good day, stress free, the rickshaw was blissfully taking to the roads of India with no little dramas and we arrived to Khajaraho, the land of Karma Sutra before sunset. Woo Hoo! So of course we all found a way to celebrate by watching the sunset go down over the temples with a few Kingfisher beers. Well actually it was our cameraman Steve Moro that stopped and found the magic of our India travels for the day. What's it all about? DAY SIX ...

Jon's Rickshaw Blog: DAY THIRTEEN - LUMBHINI TO TANSEN

http://jonsrickshaw.blogspot.com/2009/09/day-thirteen-lumbhini-to-tansen.html

Sunday, 27 September 2009. DAY THIRTEEN - LUMBHINI TO TANSEN. At three o’clock this morning, I sat bolt upright in bed. If the lightning hadn’t struck the hotel roof above us, the crack of thunder had certainly woken up everyone in the crew (apart from Katie). The thought of today’s drive kept me awake – consumed by images of a road, which we knew had already claimed at least one rickshaw. 8220;This is a man who knows good telly.” I thought. The drive was incredible. We hit a landslide almost as soon...

Monday, 21 September 2009. DAY EIGHT - SAGAR TO KHAJURAHO - 208km. Tomorrow we shall be learning some new sexual positions. In the meantime, this evening we’re sitting on the roof our hotel in Khajuraho gazing at a sun setting behind a horizon dotted with temples. These are the temples famed throughout the world for their erotic sculptures, which we’re assured, leave nothing to the imagination. Gordon is very excited. Everything felt different, but most noticeable of all – it was clean. For the...Since w...

David Bowie, Blackstar. David Bowie: Blackstar, 2016. Blackstar is David Bowie’s remarkable final album. At just seven songs over 41 minutes it stands as a dark and meaningful good-bye piece that takes us not on our personal journey to the concept of our own mortality, but into Bowie’s inner psych and spiritual being right to summation. Tis a Pity She Was a Whore is basically as lighthearted as the album ever shows. This one is a stroll-along number about a girl who is rather difficult to carry on wi...

Monday, November 14, 2011. Belgium – A box of chocolates. 8217; like. Elsewhere the whole ‘Capital of Europe’ theme was thrust around at every opportunity with plenty of blue Euro flags around. It comprised of a viewing area and an exhibition about how great immigration is. You could almost smell the vegan food coming from the two food areas. Other than a row with some old bag after I refused to spend €0.5 after spending a penny in a scummy toilet that was Brussels. Friday, November 4, 2011. The first of...
