Reinventing the Run: July 2014
http://iantorrence.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
IT'S MUCH MORE THAN JUST ONE FOOT IN FRONT OF THE OTHER. Monday, July 7, 2014. 2014 Moab's Alpine to Slickrock 50 Mile: A Trip From Clouds to Furnace. Race directors Justin Ricks and Chris Martinez. Told me they were moving the date of their Moab's Alpine to Slickrock 50 Mile. From September to July I shuddered. I had run this event two times previous ( see my 2012 report here. Here's a video teaser of the race from 2012. Just like the other old and new events on their race calendar. Looking into Miners ...
Reinventing the Run: Zoroaster

IT'S MUCH MORE THAN JUST ONE FOOT IN FRONT OF THE OTHER. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. She was the dog that was supposed to live forever. However, this was the only command she would disobey. I found “Z” at the Jackson County Animal Shelter in Phoenix, Oregon. Along with her brothers and sisters, she had been left in a cardboard box along a city curb. That would be the last time she’d ever ride back seat. I relented, opened the kennel door, and she crawled into bed with me. She was like Velcro to my side.

IT'S MUCH MORE THAN JUST ONE FOOT IN FRONT OF THE OTHER. Tuesday, June 9, 2015. The 'note' takes mere milliseconds to arrive, but the sting lasts for days.". Recently dethroned Strava CR (course record) holder. It has now become abundantly clear that Strava. Flagstaff and its surrounding mountains are covered with Strava segments. Here are my top ten (and a few added bonuses) based on nothing more than my own opinion. 1) Buffalo Park Loop (counter clock-wise). Scotland's Andrew Lemoncello (see Poo Pond C...

IT'S MUCH MORE THAN JUST ONE FOOT IN FRONT OF THE OTHER. Sunday, April 26, 2015. The 2015 Running of the Zane Grey 50 Mile. This year Zane Grey 50 Mile Race. Zane was also a stepping stone to this year's Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run. In which I'll be participating. To finish Zane in good standing and feeling good would build confidence as I closed in on the final two months of Western training. In order to accomplish this I did five significant things:. Coach Emily Harrison to develop the plan.

The absolute joy of self propulsion .....: September 2012
http://legsformiles.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
The absolute joy of self propulsion . Monday, September 10, 2012. Army Half Marathon 2012: Race Review. I ran the AHM in 1:57:12. Its definitely not the time i was shooting for (which was 1:50-1:52) and i am actually ruing the lost opportunity because the weather was really outstanding. Yet, i dont feel too bad about the outcome for a few reasons and am motivated to improve upon this significantly in the days to come. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The absolute joy of self propulsion .....: January 2013
http://legsformiles.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
The absolute joy of self propulsion . Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Well Yesterday was New Year and today, January is nearly gone. Atleast thats what it feels like to me - this month has just gone whizzing by. And I sure do hope that the start i have had for 2013 is a sign of things to come for the rest of the year. Just remembered . on one of those rare occasions that i was running on a treadmill, last Monday, in a hotel in Osaka, i crossed 5000 kms in career mileage . yippeee! Links to this post. 2 Run va...
The absolute joy of self propulsion .....: February 2011
http://legsformiles.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
The absolute joy of self propulsion . Saturday, February 12, 2011. From how the run shaped up, to how it finally played out, i am really pleased with this. 2011 has been off to a better start than 2010 and i only hope that this continues for the rest of the year. I think i have a legitimate hope now for running a 4:40-4:45ish at Tokyo - whether or not that happens is a different proposition altogether. Links to this post. Tuesday, February 8, 2011. The absolute joy of self propulsion .....: August 2011
http://legsformiles.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
The absolute joy of self propulsion . Friday, August 19, 2011. Happy week this . This week has worked out rather well for me . i was quite eager, at the start of the week, to allay my fears that cutting back on mileage the previous week (as was my plan) would prove to be beneficial and not adversely affect my fitness. I am quite happy with the way things turned out . Weekly mileage: 66kms. Rounds up a pretty good effort. Next week should be similar and then i will back off, as part of taper to ru...Yeste...

The absolute joy of self propulsion . Monday, May 30, 2011. Sundown Half Marathon Race Review. It was a splendid race for me - i set a target which i thought was a tough but realistic one, and managed to hit it (for most part atleast). I also know that if i can keep my training consistent and not get injured, i will be able to run faster and longer. Which is the whole point of my running anyway. :). Links to this post. I don’t have a comprehensive solution to the obesity epidemic. But I’m sure ads like this one aren’t helping. Aug 23rd, 2010 03:09 pm. I've had a few enquiries about whether I will be updating the community or timelines in the future. The simple answer is - no. Children of Earth, for a wide variety of reasons, destroyed much of the enthusiasm I had for Torchwood and I cannot see that changing in the foreseeable future. That being the case, I thought I would offer the site up for adoption. So if anyone would be interested in taking over ownership, please get in touch. Timeline - The 19th Century. Part two of the ...
