When I hear "this is Halloween" the phrase sings in my head like the parade at Disneyworld. Anyway-here's to the rest of our October. We took the kids to the pumpkin patch. And got lost in the corn maze. A few days later I got to go with Tanner and his kindergarten class back to the pumpkin patch for a field trip. I mean, come ON! How cute is that? A Song of Life*.

Monday, June 27, 2011. Make-Ahead Mashed Potato Casserole. Can be prepared up to 1 day ahead. 5 pounds baking potatoes (such as russet, Idaho, Burbank, or Eastern). 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, cut into chunks, at room temperature. 1 cup sour cream. 1/2 cup milk, heated. 1/2 teaspoon freshly milled white pepper. Chopped fresh chives or parsley, optional. Preheat the oven to 375. Bake the casserole until the potatoes are heated through, 30-40 minutes. Serve hot, sprinkle with the chives, if using.

Tuesday, November 16, 2010. 1 small pkg orange, cherry, and lime gelatin. 3 C boiling water. 1 ½ C cold water. Eliminate ½ cup water from each package of gelatin). 1 small pkg lemon gelatin. 1 C boiling water. 189; C COLD water. 4 C Cool Whip. Prepare the orange, cherry and lime gelatin separately using 1 C boiling and ½ C cold water for each flavor. Pour into three 8-inch square pans. Chill until firm-at least 3 hours or overnight.
