Great Scotts: July 2014
http://nateandrebeccascott.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 7, 2014. Great Basin National Park. This was a very pleasant mostly shady trail that followed the creeks along much of the way. Here we are with Pyramid Peak behind us. Here is Ben with Pyramid Peak behind him. There were also a lot of wildflowers along this trail, including shooting stars, columbines, blue bells, and lupines among others. The flowers obviously attracted a lot of butterflies, which frequented flower patches and often fluttered past us. Saturday we drove to Garnet Hill in Ely...

Great Scotts: June 2015
http://nateandrebeccascott.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 10, 2015. It is nice that the weather is good enough to hike now. We have already gone on a couple hikes in our area this spring. Our first was on Memorial Day with my brothers. We decided to try out the Wild Rose Loop. That afternoon, and while we were at it we did a section of the Chukkar Loop and went roughly half way along a trail that would have taken us to Ensign Peak. It was fun to hike and just to spend time with my brothers. Tuesday, June 2, 2015. Anniversary Trip - Part 2. Frida...

Sunday, May 25, 2014. Europe Trip Day 13: Dresden, Germany. The Semper Opera House. Looking out to the Theaterplaz from the Zwinger. Hofkirche on the left. The Procession of Princes (Fürstenzug in German). Frauenkirche (Church of our Lady). Our boat tour turned out to be quite nice. We sat on the top of the boat with good views of everything, and the narration was clear and easy to understand. We were really glad that is wasn't like our Venice boat tour! Austin on the boat. Great Scotts: January 2015
http://nateandrebeccascott.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 4, 2015. Our Christmas day at my parents' house progressed in its usual fashion. We all slept in, and then headed out together to see what was left in our stockings. Austin found a couple foam puzzles and a bath toy next to his stocking. It took some encouragement to get him to look inside his stocking too, but he was happy with what he found there:. By the way, the sweater that Austin is wearing is one that used to be Nate's. Nate's grandparents brought it back from Europe for him. As us...

Great Scotts: August 2014
http://nateandrebeccascott.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 31, 2014. Puppy Party and A Visit From Family. On Saturday, August 9th, we were privileged to attend our friends' Heather and Royce's birthday puppy party. They held the party at a park and rented a few puppies for everyone to play with. It was a beautiful afternoon, and we had a great time holding the puppies, visiting with our good friends, eating some cake, and playing on the playground. Sunday, August 24, 2014. The seahorses were fascinating, but their display was very dark making pict...

Great Scotts: May 2015

Friday, May 29, 2015. Anniversary Trip: Part 1. We were happy to find that the desert was very pretty at this time of year, with all sorts of wild flowers in bloom from white stemmed evening primroses, to lupines and yucca plants. Here are some of the "toadstools". After our short hike, we stopped by a beautiful view point. We arrived at an ideal viewing time. The light was soft and inviting, turning the scene it illuminated into a stunning pastel toned landscape. But as we continued, the canyon walls dr...

Great Scotts: Vernal Trip Part 2
http://nateandrebeccascott.blogspot.com/2015/07/vernal-trip-part-2.html
Thursday, July 9, 2015. Vernal Trip Part 2. Friday morning (June 19th) we headed out to the Dinosaur National Monument. We started out by heading to the visitor's center and catching a ride on the shuttle to the Dinosaur Quarry. We had fun looking at all the dinosaur bones there and learning about them. Visitors were even permitted to touch the partially uncovered fossilized bones in the rock at the bottom. The most complete sauropod skeleton ever found. Here we are in front of Josie's Cabin. This little...

Great Scotts: Independence Day Week
http://nateandrebeccascott.blogspot.com/2015/07/independence-day-week.html
Sunday, July 19, 2015. Nate had the entire week before July 4th off from work. We didn't travel anywhere during most of the week. Instead we tried to spend some time together doing fun things nearby during that time. On Monday, June 29th, we went swimming. On Tuesday we took Austin to the Treehouse Museum. Wednesday was particularly fun. We took Austin hiking four miles total up the Farmington Creek/Sunset Trail. He did very well! I thought this trail was perfect for him since there were a number of poin...

Great Scotts: July 2015
http://nateandrebeccascott.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Saturday Nate and I hiked Mount Nebo. With my brother Ben, Ben's friend, and and his friend's wife. It was a really wonderful hike, and it brought back a lot of memories of doing the same hike almost exactly nine years ago together with some of our good friends at BYU. The only downside was that Nate's knees got pretty sore. I had forgotten just how scenic this trail is, and we hit it at just the right time to see all the wildflowers in full bloom. Nate on Saturday's hike. Accordi...
