IMAGININGS IN VERSE: THE SACRIFICIAL
http://www.imaginingsinverse.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-sacrificial.html
Poetry by Ana Kyriou. The goat was injured. A winsome, all white. Or all black, smooth fur. A small swollen spot. Covering the sanguine rush. We got ready to bury her. Some bones were shattered. Cuddling into it, her death,. Soon she passed out of memory. It's more peaceful that way,. The goat telephoned to say. Location: Pennsylvania, USA. Frieze of Dancers, c. 1895 (Edgar Degas, The Cleveland Museum Of Art). Degas most probably depicted one dancer seen from four different view points.

Poetry by Ana Kyriou. It was waiting in the distance. A ridge at the edge of the horizon,. An olive grove I thought. It took years for me to get there. Walking a little each evening. Mildly curious, expecting nothing,. My careless drifting across the landscape. Later at home I found the gash. This was another one,. Slicing its way over existing scar tissue. I let my fingers touch it. It was exquisite, a secret wound. I would nurture this one,. Drape it in all my intricate finery. A blaze was raging,.

Keep time with them. Your voice has an. I need that fix. Just as I need the. The torture of absence. So jump to it man. Bring the brandy wine,. And bring me your song. Jump to it lest I begin. I sound like Blossom Dearie. I can’t resist belting out a tune. Something of hers,. I can’t resist. The most excellent songs.

IMAGININGS IN VERSE: GARDEN, MINE
http://www.imaginingsinverse.blogspot.com/2015/06/garden-mine.html
Poetry by Ana Kyriou. I garden my remembrances. My roses are speared with thorns. My arms bruised,. My arms welcoming and soft. A crescent cove, that crease where. Your smile breaks,. A wave unfolding tranquil to shore. As I plant a bulb or mulch a thirsty root. The long ago casual glances—. No, that’s not true, write true. Furtive is true, with longing, a sadness, regret. All those are true, never casual, never ordinary. Always I search for it. In the topography of your face. To go back or reach forward.

IMAGININGS IN VERSE
Poetry by Ana Kyriou. Thursday, July 23, 2015. It hurt, it hurt beyond hurt. Where does it go when it hurts like that. One pain with multiple names. Try to keep afloat – feasible for a while – illusions. Eventually things begin to chip in spots. How many times can porcelain be mended? Instead, drift toward the shadows of your life. The haunted corners, catalogues of arid days:. You’ll come back they said, and it was truth. Choke it into sediment. Some vapor, cold and cloudy. Will escape from memory.
Imagining Skinny
I made this widget. Wednesday, February 1, 2012. How am I doing? Well, I've been feeling a little defeated since starting my program. I did quite well, up until the week between Christmas and New Years. I am off my target date for sure, but I am not giving up! Currently, I can run for about 7 minutes before I start to feel like I am going to die! According to my schedule, I "should" be able to go for 35, but 7 minutes is 7 minutes more than I could run in November, so I will happily take it! In other new...
