Inclusion in the Classroom: 6/21/09 - 6/28/09

http://includemetoo.blogspot.com/2009_06_21_archive.html

Inclusion in the Classroom. Sharing ideas about how to teach children using both push-in and pull-out strategies. Monday, June 22, 2009. Is teaching a real profession? Teaching is a field that needs more credibility. Some functions that help give credibility are licensure/certification processes, a code of ethics, and methods based on empirical/objective data. I keep hearing about teachers who care about their students and are doing an effective job in the classroom, but have not passed Praxis.

Inclusion in the Classroom. Sharing ideas about how to teach children using both push-in and pull-out strategies. Thursday, June 4, 2009. Should we tell them we're offended? I teach at an academically-successful upper NW school which has all the supplies and support it needs. Every student’s situation is not perfect but generally the kids are well-behaved and able to be reasoned with. 8221; The teacher’s response was, “I suggest you don’t.”. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Inclusion in the Classroom: Next year's classroom

http://includemetoo.blogspot.com/2009/05/next-years-classroom.html

Inclusion in the Classroom. Sharing ideas about how to teach children using both push-in and pull-out strategies. Friday, May 22, 2009. As much as I like to study and promote the idea of inclusion for mild to moderately impaired SPED students, I will be in a self-contained classroom next year. I will work with emotionally disturbed children, of course with the goal of helping them improve till they can be in an inclusive environment once again. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Inclusion in the Classroom: Teachers With Teaching Disabilities

http://includemetoo.blogspot.com/2009/05/teachers-with-teaching-disabilities.html

Inclusion in the Classroom. Sharing ideas about how to teach children using both push-in and pull-out strategies. Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Teachers With Teaching Disabilities. This is from The Onion. WASHINGTON—A shocking report released by the U.S. Department of Education this week revealed that a growing number of the nation's educators struggle on a daily basis with some form of teaching disability. As noted in the report, hundreds of schools have already begun setting up special classrooms in which the...

Inclusion in the Classroom: 3/8/09 - 3/15/09

http://includemetoo.blogspot.com/2009_03_08_archive.html

Inclusion in the Classroom. Sharing ideas about how to teach children using both push-in and pull-out strategies. Friday, March 13, 2009. Pull-out is not the only answer. Some teachers in DC schools complain that inclusion is not working because there are not enough SPED teachers in a school, and you can't be in two places at once. At several schools and in many IEP meetings I heard general ed and special ed teachers say, "What he needs is more one-on-one and small group instruction." That suggestion...

My Inclusive Classroom: Mother's Day Poll

http://myinclusiveclassroom.blogspot.com/2009/05/mothers-day-poll.html

Thursday, May 28, 2009. This was a segment my class at church did in honor of Mother's Day. You can maybe use it with your class at school. My students thought of interesting questions to ask about their mothers: Can your mother sing? Is your mother afraid of dogs? Does your mother like King's Dominion? Does your mother owe you money? Then we polled the class (not the actual mothers, although YOU can poll the mothers if you like). Then we presented our findings before the church. March 31, 2010 at 2:56 PM.

My Inclusive Classroom: Eyes Opened After Videotaping Myself

http://myinclusiveclassroom.blogspot.com/2009/05/eyes-opened-after-videotaping-myself.html

Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Eyes Opened After Videotaping Myself. I started videotaping myself in my classroom while I'm teaching. I got the idea from the criteria for National Board Certification. I thought I would go ahead and get used to videotaping myself and answering related questions that the National Board requires you to answer when obtaining your certification. What an eye-opening experience! Today, my fourth graders showed better behavior and they got so much more work done today. I teach in DCPS.

Teaching Serendipity: About Me

Practice speaks to education policy, research, and theory. This remarkable sculpture reminds me that children, educators, and schools are. Constantly evolving - and that we each play a role in helping bring that change about. I'm a kindergarten teacher striving to bridge theory, policy, and PRACTICE in Washington, D. C. I believe in: data-driven instruction, play, interest-based projects, Dewey, the Zone of Proximal Development, community schools, and a balance between content and process. There was an e...

My Inclusive Classroom: What is a Resource?

http://myinclusiveclassroom.blogspot.com/2009/05/what-is-resource.html

Friday, May 8, 2009. What is a Resource? I often hear educators saying that schools need more RESOURCES to solve various problems. Oftentimes, this translates to more money, but there are many cases where money has not equalled improvement. I began my own list of RESOURCES, and I think people should be very specific in making their needs known. Ø Trainings on specific research-based interventions. Ø Assistive technology (i.e., calculators, word processors, computer programs). Ø Xerox machines/copier paper.

For those in the no. Monday, 19 March 2018. Modern Music is Rubbish! We know that musical appreciation is subjective but that doesn't prevent us from making 'definitive' statements sometimes, by which I mean statements which we are convinced are correct, 100%, no question. This is problematic if one tries comparing say, Slade to Ed Sheeran. Both made/make music for teeny boppers. The thing here is that one made music for me, when I was a teeny bopper, which immediately makes Slade better. As far as the p...

Segunda-feira, 16 de janeiro de 2012. Though I dreamed of this dance. She was smiling on her stance. Beneath a blue and black sky. Two hazel inviting eyes. Fitting the purple dress. She turns her head. Dark yellow hair covers her face. Hidding the tears that falls because of fate. Fighting through to accept the loss. Her voice echoes through my mind. A gracious sound that drives me insane. Her happiness fuels my soul. She says no word. She shares the dance. She takes my hand. Compartilhar com o Pinterest.
