Found A Christian By His Grace.: Untangled~
http://foundachristianbyhisgrace.blogspot.com/2015/07/untangled.html
Thursday, July 23, 2015. Every woman has a tangle or two in her life- a knot in her heart that keeps her from living fully free. Sometimes the knots are made of tiny threads, and sometimes they seem to be chains forged from steel. Some knots can be untied quickly, a words of guidance or encouragement amid a hard day will suffice. The harder knots may require bolt-cutters: God's grace and much human wisdom. Carey addresses some of the specific strings that can trip us up, drawing from her own experiences.

Found A Christian By His Grace.: "Questions Jesus Asks"
http://foundachristianbyhisgrace.blogspot.com/2015/08/questions-jesus-asks.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. As much as we all think we'd prefer answers, sometimes what we really need is a question. A question can cut us right in half, pare us down to our deepest secrets, reveal the truth we already knew. Jesus asked a lot of question. Who you you think I am? Has no one condemned you? Why have you forsaken me? What are you seeking? Each chapter is short and to the point, making this ideal for a Bible study (one chapter per question) or as a faith-enriching read. Here is light to enlighte...

When I was an unsaved teenager, I picked up “Atlas Shrugged,” thinking that by reading it, I could somehow change the world. Curiously, I never finished it. Dios te bendiga,. Pingbac...

Found A Christian By His Grace.: Together with You~
http://foundachristianbyhisgrace.blogspot.com/2015/08/together-with-you.html
Saturday, August 1, 2015. Together with You" is a strong story that hits all the right notes of hope and reality. The hope comes when the characters realize that they can build a very good life, even when their reality will include hard choices and perpetual struggles. It is a wonder that all the steps and stops of her life would take her so far from her roots. We meet her in California, living in a doctors home, as a nanny/caregiver for his motherless daughter. I'll be on the lookout for another book by...

Found A Christian By His Grace.: Thriving in Babylon~
http://foundachristianbyhisgrace.blogspot.com/2015/07/thriving-in-babylon.html
Friday, July 17, 2015. Hope, Humility, and Wisdom. They matter if you're trying to live well in a troubled world. For Daniel, his troubled world was Babylon. For you and I, it's probably some corner of America. I've actually heard serious discussion about whether America is the "Babylon" of prophecy. We won't quibble about that.). Let's take the comparison between those places this far: when we look around our world we too see a lot of not-gods being exalted and leaving their worshippers empty. He lived ...

Cindy's Book Club: February 2015
http://cindysbookclub.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
This is not just book reviews- it's a cozy place to come for fun and interesting things about books and reading! Monday, February 16, 2015. Sandra Byrd's "Mist of Midnight"- a gothic Victorian treat. I've become a slightly more impatient reader in recent years. If a book doesn't grab me fairly soon after I open it, I have trouble making myself keep reading. By Sandra Byrd, offered no such problem. As soon as the reader meets Rebecca Ravenshaw, then finds out her extraordinary quandary, you're in. Rebecca...

Found A Christian By His Grace.: Brimstone~
http://foundachristianbyhisgrace.blogspot.com/2015/08/brimstone.html
Saturday, August 15, 2015. Hugh Halter's "Flesh" was one of my favorite reads in 2014. The heart of that book was the age-old question "How do we live like Jesus? Hugh gave us not only a challenge, but a reassurance too. He made the argument that our humanity doesn't stand in the way of our holiness. Instead, holiness grows out of our full humanity, when we learn to be human like Jesus. Hugh called this phenomena "whimsical holiness.". Am I equipped to judge? And that all works well in theory. If we're p...
