Ink Slinger Chronicles: May 2008
http://inkslingerchronicles.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Periodic musings from a freelance writer about the writer's life. Thursday, May 29, 2008. What's Happening at the House? Well I can no longer pretend that updates on our home renovation project serve as writing exercises, but it doesn’t seem right to leave the saga without a conclusion. My last post was in mid April, a full six weeks ago, so you would think that everything is done right? The painters also showed up. Given my lack of imagination on colors the house now looks just like it did before we...
Ink Slinger Chronicles: February 2008
http://inkslingerchronicles.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Periodic musings from a freelance writer about the writer's life. Friday, February 8, 2008. Lately I’ve been looking for a way to host hardcopy documents online. Several or my articles about native plants and gardening have been published in magazines, and I wanted to give the public access to the good information available there – with the publisher’s permission of course. I have already uploaded several and I can either provide a link to the document Native in the City - Georgia Gardening Nov 2005.
Ink Slinger Chronicles: March 2008
http://inkslingerchronicles.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Periodic musings from a freelance writer about the writer's life. Wednesday, March 26, 2008. I’m sure you aren’t as interested in my home improvements as I am, but it is sucking up most of my time. Since I’m neither working on the book nor thinking up great topics for the other blogs, I thought I would share. What’s the bad news? And, we are going to have a chance to spend the credit from the insulation on rebuilding spots like this. The contractor originally planned to demo the old siding and put up...
Ink Slinger Chronicles: August 2008
http://inkslingerchronicles.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Periodic musings from a freelance writer about the writer's life. Monday, August 18, 2008. The Last Renovation Post? I sure hope that it is. We are still waiting on the final inspection – have been waiting for a couple of weeks – but other than that the contractor’s work is done. With the addition of some salvaged furniture, we now have a comfortable outdoor room on the front porch. You can read more about the furniture at Stitching Times. I probably shouldn’t even mention the gutters. We do st...We have...
Ink Slinger Chronicles: Gutter Gripes and Patio Peeves
http://inkslingerchronicles.blogspot.com/2008/07/gutter-gripes-and-patio-peeves.html
Periodic musings from a freelance writer about the writer's life. Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Gutter Gripes and Patio Peeves. It’s been a month since my last post and we still aren’t finished. When will this end? One more stop at Home Depot and we now have cute little corner guards that keep the water where it is supposed to go. The most maddening part is that this doesn’t happen every time you take a shower, and you have no way of knowing how often it happens with the dishwasher or washing machine...

Contrarian Chronicles: November 2007
http://contrarianchronicles.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Information and opinions on topics local to global. Saturday, November 3, 2007. What Would We Do Without George F. Will? Previously published on Ink Slinger Chronicles on October 16, 2007. Here is yet another article that I read this morning. An Inconvenient Price. Begs the question of what we should be doing about global warming, if anything. My poor husband has been listening to me rant in a far less articulate manner along similar lines. Can this kind of environmental impact be stopped? It seems that ...

Contrarian Chronicles: What Makes Me Cranky
http://contrarianchronicles.blogspot.com/2008/04/what-makes-me-cranky.html
Information and opinions on topics local to global. Friday, April 4, 2008. What Makes Me Cranky. As the days and weeks passed, I did return to a normal life, but with some differences. I volunteered more, started to consider new career choices, and the TV in the kitchen was always on and tuned to a 24 hour news station. Subconsciously I think I felt that if craziness could rain down from the sky at any moment, I needed to be vigilant. Posted by Kay Stephenson. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Contrarian Chronicles: Still Cranky After All This Time
http://contrarianchronicles.blogspot.com/2009/04/still-cranky-after-all-this-time.html
Information and opinions on topics local to global. Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Still Cranky After All This Time. I haven't been posting to my blogs much, and I blame that on Twitter. It's so easy to speak your mind in short little 140 character bursts. But, like most things, Twitter is an imperfect world.[editor: World? Ok, maybe in the sense that SciFi writers create worlds and universes] . Vote on the poll to your left and let me know what you think about this use of Twitter. Too much?

Contrarian Chronicles: Mandatory Pet Sterilization in Los Angles
http://contrarianchronicles.blogspot.com/2008/02/mandatory-pet-sterilization-in-los.html
Information and opinions on topics local to global. Friday, February 29, 2008. Mandatory Pet Sterilization in Los Angles. This morning I read a story that I couldn’t quite believe. In The Barr Code. The blog of former US Congressman Bob Barr, I read that the City Council of Los Angeles had passed a law requiring all residents to have their cats and dogs spayed or face stiff fines and other penalties. Further investigation revealed that the gist of the story is true. According to the Blog of Ed Boks.

THE INK SLINGER | "But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling like dew upon a thought, produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think." – Lord Byron
For Want of Wonder (Part 2). October 20, 2015. In which Chesterton destroys the cynic and the sentimentalist:. I’ve already talked a little about the wonder that pervades Chesterton’s writing. On the Bookshelf XXXIV. October 19, 2015. By Warren Ellis and John Cassaday. Subtitled “A Doctor’s Dispatches from the Inner City”, this collection of essays is sharp, eloquent, insightful, grim, and grimly funny. It doesn’t quite rise to the sheer and untrammeled excellence of. Our Culture, What’s Left of It.
