The Deep Blue Sea

The Deep Blue Sea. Monday, January 24, 2011. We were posting at the Haus lists of 30 Random Things about ourselves. Here's my list. 1 My favorite car color is cream. 2 I have never dyed my hair, but it probably won't be long since the silver hairs are starting to make their presence known a bit too often. 3 I love desserts with lots of nuts. 4 I rarely wear shoes other than flip-flops or sandals. 5 It would take more than one hand to count how many times I have been deserted by "best" friends in my life.

The Deep Blue Sea: Dangling

http://intothedeepbluesea.blogspot.com/2011/01/dangling.html

The Deep Blue Sea. Monday, January 17, 2011. It's hard to even determine an order in which to start organizing thoughts. What is most important? What can fall under another decision as opposed to which things need to be deal-breakers? Way too much to think about all at once, and yet the days are marching on and we will eventually have to choose a path. As hard as we are trying to simplify, life is rarely simple. The Deep Blue Sea. Friday, January 14, 2011. It's been a wild ride, this life of mine. The past few years have been pretty crazy, but good heavens- my whole life has been wild. Maybe soon I will blog a bit more about just how crazy it's been on the whole. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Words In Other Places. The Easterling Homeschool Adventure. The Deep Blue Sea: Quiet

http://intothedeepbluesea.blogspot.com/2011/01/quiet.html

The Deep Blue Sea. Wednesday, January 19, 2011. A girl Rosie's age, a friend of many of Rosie's friends, was killed this morning crossing a street half a mile from her school skipping class. My heart wants to scream out of my chest in anguish. She was only fifteen. Thunder and Lightning continues to reach into my soul in classic Natalie Goldberg style. I came back to something simple- I became quiet inside. Who was I looking for? Who could I find? Who are we talking to? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Learning Every Minute: January 2011

http://learningeveryminute.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Wording our family learning adventures as we live them. Monday, January 24, 2011. From a RealHaus post this past December…. Which leaves me pondering: Where is the happy place between teaching our children to question authority and not bend to every whim and blindly jump through every hoop they are told to, and learning the skills and ability to adapt to the “real world” (as though they don’t already live in the real world if they school at home, but I digress)? Did I meet their individual needs? Is ther...

Learning Every Minute: March 2010

http://learningeveryminute.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Wording our family learning adventures as we live them. Monday, March 15, 2010. Labels Me No Likey. Once again (for like the fifth time, at least). I have arrived in virtually the same place I have arrived at each and every time I have delved into the big, wide, not-so-welcoming world of "unschooling":. I seriously do. Just a few observations, in bullet-form since they are somewhat topical in nature. In parenting, as in every other area of life, my philosophy is that it's all about relationship. My c...

Learning Every Minute: September 2010

http://learningeveryminute.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Wording our family learning adventures as we live them. Thursday, September 16, 2010. How the Yo-Yo Was Invented. I obviously haven't updated since the beginning of the summer, and there have been changes. Crazy, I know, but yes, there have been changes. Homeschooling is going very well for both Rosie and Matt, other than the fact that they both barely tolerate math. I guess it goes without saying that neither of them shares their eldest brother's love for the subject. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Learning Every Minute: Okay, Maybe Not a Yo-Yo, but More Like a Roller Coaster

http://learningeveryminute.blogspot.com/2010/10/okay-maybe-not-yo-yo-but-more-like.html

Wording our family learning adventures as we live them. Monday, October 4, 2010. Okay, Maybe Not a Yo-Yo, but More Like a Roller Coaster. Our family educational adventure could be viewed as a microcosm of life in many ways. Actually, after having homeschooled my children for 22 years, it has been. We heard last week that there is still a good chance Matt will soon be hired at the museum. We picked up his khakis over the weekend, and he is eager to get started. Learning Every Minute: Talks

http://learningeveryminute.blogspot.com/2011/01/talks.html

Wording our family learning adventures as we live them. Monday, January 24, 2011. My daughter and I have been talking a lot lately. Not that it’s anything unusual for us to talk, but it’s been a little bit easier now that I’m not so crazy busy all the time. This is actually what I envisioned (hoped for) when I backed off my other commitments to turn my focus more directly on her and her brother and less on people outside our family. And the dam broke. I responded with, "What do you do when your child no longer loves it? Us veterans don't have it all together even after doing this for 22 years. Learning Every Minute: May 2010

http://learningeveryminute.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Wording our family learning adventures as we live them. Thursday, May 6, 2010. If this family is one thing, it's flexible. I've always loved the adage, "Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape." Hopefully the flexibility we've had no choice but to maintain over the years means that our family has a significantly lesser chance of being bent out of shape. Sometimes it feels a bit like bungee-jumping. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Deep Blue Sea. Write, Pray, Love.

The Vocation Blog of the Province of Meribah. Thursday, March 29, 2018. This evening the Marianist Communities gathered to celebrate the Lord's Supper.
