Then I saw a tero. Two, actually. I recognized them by appearance, not by name (those who know me can testify I'm no ornithologist), and I recognized their appearance because I'd been looking at photographs. When I first read the sentence in the book I'm translating - he looked like a tero. What a beautiful bird!

Współczesna literatura japońska (i nie tylko.). Wtorek, 31 stycznia 2012. Ostatnio dane mi było przeczytać dwie pozycje tej 54-letniej pisarki. Pierwsza to: „Nadepnęłam na węża” i druga - „Manazuru”. Fabuła nie jest skomplikowana; ot opisy podróży, jedzenia, trochę pracy. Całościowy odbiór dzieła mogą jednak utrudniać liczne przeskoki w czasie. Cała historia nasycona jest jakby poczuciem straty: męża, bliskości córki a w końcu i kochanka, którego raz po raz pyta: „Czy cię stracę? Wyświetl mój pełny profil.
