Retaining the charm (and massive stone fireplace) of the original cottage, it has been completely restored and modernized, with sleeping accommodations for five people. The cottage has two single beds in the small bedroom, a double bed in the large bedroom, and a futon in the living room. The large bedroom opens out onto a patio with a view of bay. Bere Island, three miles wide and seven miles long, sits under the watchful eye of Hungry Hill, highest mountain on the Bere Peninsula. It stands like a rocky sentry at the mouth of Bantry Bay in Southwest Cork.
