Carter was getting a little annoyed with all the chaos. He didn't understand why we were cooking and cleaning and decorating. After all, it was his birthday. Shouldn't he get all the attention? We had to be a bit creative with how we could hold him and still bake cakes and cookies. Cute, Cute, Cute! This is Carter's little birthday cake.

Jake and Ryan's Road Trip. Wednesday, August 12, 2009. California, the Golden aka burnt brown state! I have made it! She wouldn't even get of the car! She signaled for me to get out of the car, which I did, and then she gave me a huge hug! The surprise was totally worth it :). This all took place on my last day in Seattle. Next Stop was Palo Alto, CA! For those of you who I call often, you know that I enjoy giving the weather report. Southern, VA has incredible weather but this place takes it all....

Jake and Sam — Let's Cook! It’s BBQ hour somewhere…. December 6, 2012. 1-1/2 lbs. large unpeeled shrimp, preferably with heads on. For the peri-peri sauce:. 1 tablespoon chopped garlic. 2 teaspoons of hot red pepper (flakes, cayenne, or piment d’Espelette, which is milder). 2 tablespoons lemon juice. 1 cup vegetable oil. Grill them on a hot barbeque for 1- 2 minutes a side, depending on their size. You can thread them on skewers if you think it’ll make them easier to handle. 1 tablespoon grated ginger.
