Isaac and Caitlin's Blog

Friday, August 7, 2015. Our baby girl turned 5! As with all birthdays, we started her big day by waking her up with a candle in her toast in bed. She slept in a bit (poor Isaac was waiting patiently), but greeted us with a huge grin when we opened her door and started singing. Dressed up in her princess gear, Cate was excited to Facetime with Papa Rich in NY and Jen, Max and the kids in Israel, and then head to the art studio for her birthday party. And ripped each one open with glee. Not a bad birthday!

Isaac and Caitlin's Blog: September 2014

http://www.jamiebillandbabyanderson.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 14, 2014. First day of school. But he was full of confidence, giving me a quick hug and sending me on my way once we found his class. Bittersweet. :). Caitlin went back to the Louisville Montessori for her PK-4 year, but was just as excited for the first day as if she was starting real school. Bill and I dropped her off together, which made her feel extra special, and she was very happy to see her friends and be back in her favorite teacher, Ms. Jean's class. Vacation Part 3 - Disneyland.

Isaac and Caitlin's Blog: Saying goodbye

http://www.jamiebillandbabyanderson.blogspot.com/2015/07/saying-goodbye.html

Monday, July 13, 2015. Unfortunately, we've had to say too many goodbyes this month. We've known Jen, Max and the kids were moving to Israel since last Fall, but that didn't make the actual goodbye easier. In the last year we've had lots of "lasts", and in the weeks leading up to the actual departure, we took advantage of every opportunity to be together, and to eat ice cream! Here are some pictures of the togetherness. Weekend brunch in Stapleton, followed by a park visit and some ice cream. View my com...

Isaac and Caitlin's Blog: May 2014

http://www.jamiebillandbabyanderson.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

Friday, May 30, 2014. Here is my happy team - at the popsicle station - celebrating their tug of war and potato sack victories. It's really nice to be able to do stuff like this - and I will cherish the excitement Isaac showed in having me there as long as I can get it! Friday, May 23, 2014. I cannot believe our little man is already old enough to graduate from kindergarten! You could tell from how much effort she put into graduation that she loves the kids and her job, which is refreshing! The kids sang...

Isaac and Caitlin's Blog: December 2014

http://www.jamiebillandbabyanderson.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 31, 2014. We started off the Hanukkah celebration a little early with the Reiss's and the Samburs. The kids had a blast with latkes, brisket and dreidels, and the first of many presents. But it's still fun. As always, the best part was the kids running around, laughing and admiring each others' gifts. We decorated the house for the holidays the day after Thanksgiving. This year, the kids were big enough to actually help put the ornaments on the tree (and most stayed on! As always, the...

Silas Jones: The End of Summer

http://www.silasdavidjones.com/2010/09/end-of-summer.html

Friday, September 10, 2010. The End of Summer. Sorry for the lack of blogging. Things have been a little hectic in these parts this summer. I can't believe it's over! Silas is still hilarious. He's talking up an absolute storm. Every time he enters a room, he looks around and says, "Hey, guys! He's speaking in sentences like "Mama, anai hab mo kassup, pease? He repeated it and I paused for a minute trying to figure out how to respond. Then he said, "F*ck, pease! I try to tell myself that his willfulness ...

Silas Jones: Punta Cana

http://www.silasdavidjones.com/2010/06/punta-cana.html

Wednesday, June 9, 2010. A few weeks ago we took a family vacation to a resort. In Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I (Matt) am starting a new job. Soon, and we were all sort of burnt out, so we figured it was a good time to make a break for the beach. With the help of a travel agent, we set our sights on a place that billed itself as great for young families: lots of activities for toddlers, no worries about annoying other guests at dinner time, but great beaches and mojitos for the parents. On the last ...

Out with the Old and In with the New. September has been a big month for us Chapmans. Ian and Emma are both not napping now and so I have had to think of some creative things to do with our afternoons. RHUBARB SUMMERS: September 2011

http://rhubarbsummers.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

We made it through three August vacations and lived to tell about it. What? Rolling your eyes are you? Well, if you have kids you know that vacations aren't what they used to be. I am just happy that we survived 30 hours in the car with two kids and one dog.we also enjoyed quality time on the beach and lake without any trips to the emergency room, any calls to the doctor, and any serious temper tantrums. All in all, a success! Gosh, this was such a great relaxing trip, it will be hard to top next year.

Speedcubing as a Hobby. I've always had a fascination with the Rubik's Cube. When I was younger I could solve it in 3 minutes using a beginners method, explained in a leaflet that came with the cube. After around 8 years of not solving the cube I decided to take up the hobby again, but this time concentrate on speedcubing. In order to improve my averages I needed to ditch my former method and learn a new one. The method I choose is called the CFOP method. Which breaks it down to four main steps; C. Aroun...

Nature is my true release; a place to feel small, to question and observe - ultimately, a place to feel grounded. The variety of structures, species and adaptive phenomenon is an immense well of curiosity for me. My work is a reflection of my investigations and gathering, often weaving between physical micro/macro patterns and dipping into spiritual metaphors. 147;I really love printmaking. Just outa site in chilliwack. Sunday, November 23, 2014. Will Chilliwack ever become a Smart City? With the municipal election done and a newish city council in place many of us are exhaling and preparing to just go about our business for the next four years. Bad idea. This is the time to connect with the city councillors - old and new - and school board trustees - mostly old - and let them know what is expected of them. Tell 'em what you hope for, want and expect and keep telling them. 4 I really, reall...
