Pomegranate Thoughts: August 2009
http://pomegranatethoughts.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 11, 2009. I've stopped blogging here. With Isabel, twins on the way, trying to achieve tenure, etc., there just aren't enough hours of the day to update this blog. I've been mulling whether to keep it up or take it down. For the time being, I'll keep it up. Maybe the time and spirit will appear once again. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Pomegranate Thoughts: June 2015
http://pomegranatethoughts.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Our first family dog, the big beast, Indy, made his way to the Rainbow Bridge last Wednesday, June 24. We don't know how old he was, but I am certain he lived an excellent life with us. When Jon and I moved to Berne, we started watching The Dog Whisperer. So, on adoption day, Jon went to the adoption day, and according to him, spent most of his time with other dogs, and as they were beginning to pack up, told the gals there that he'd been sent to adopt Indy. When the girls were bo...

Pomegranate Thoughts: September 2010
http://pomegranatethoughts.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 12, 2010. Today Jon and I had to put our last granny cat to rest, our dear Hailie. Much to our relief, a neighbor was able to come over and watch the girls, and we took Hailie on her last car ride. She hardly moved while we drove. When we got to the clinic and had her euthanized, she went very quickly. She seemed tired, ready. We, Jon and I, of course were not ready. It does not get easier, even though this is our third. When she finally came into our hands, and there were no other hand...

160; Incoherent rambling brought to you by much caffeine . . . Sunday, May 30, 2010. Since Google announced the Blogger Template Designer. I've been meaning to rework my site. There was a fair amount of hackish stuff in my template HTML, including a bunch of monkeying around to make my main post column wider yet still use the rounded corners on the old table based layout. 160; Incoherent rambling brought to you by much caffeine . . . Sunday, May 30, 2010. Boundary Waters, May 2010. I've often wished I could remember all the places I've been in the Boundary Waters. So this time I'm writing it down. :-). The distance turned out to be a bit longer than it looked, due to the meanderings of the rivers, but it was still worth it for the food. :-). Notes for next time: The only thing I'd have done differently is to bring one spare Duluth pack for the cooler and grill. Even i...

160; Incoherent rambling brought to you by much caffeine . . . Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Superdune Half Marathon 2009. On Sunday I ran the Superdune half marathon. I was excited to do this race as much for the location as anything. Bethells Beach is one of the west coast black sand beaches. I've seen lots of photos of it in books and postcards, so I was looking forward to seeing it myself and grabbing a few photos of my own. After the beach run we had a massive uphill climb followed by roller coaster ups ...
