Thursday, July 5, 2012. Baby Andrew is Here! No wonder I was so anxious to have this baby. Look at the size of that belly! I maintain that I really wasn't ever that bad - the hospital gown put on an extra 10 lbs at least :-). Here is the full spiel on baby Andrew's journey here. If labor stories aren't your thing, just skip to the photos :-). At 1:30 am Sunday night, I woke up with something painful. Then it happened again. Could this be it? Get to the hospital! He was happy to play such a big role in th...

Saturday, June 30, 2012. Fun in the Hot Summer Sun. This is a picture of a brand new splash park in Henderson. Splash parks are the only salvation in the 110 degree summer weather. Time for some refreshment under the palm trees. All tuckered out. Time for a nap! A night at he park with dad. The splash pads run day and night:-). James got a cold so we had to spend a few days at home. Playing on the balcony. One thing lead to another! Who needs a bun? I'll just dig into the chicken salad with my spoon.

Monday, November 29, 2010. We got to go to Austin Texas for Thanksgiving this year. After being wined and dined at all of the coolest places in Austin, we cooked a gigantic Thanksgiving dinner at home. We began baking pies at 10:00 pm Wednesday night. I couldn't resist making a lattice for the cherry pie, even at that late hour :-). Holly stayed up until 1:00 am to pull the pies out of the oven. Actually, I didn't realize they look like armadillos until just now :-). I think we had like 5 pans total!

Saturday, March 12, 2011. Baby James - 3 weeks. Baby James 10 months old - more boy than baby I am afraid. Look at that head of hair! Hard to believe he was ever this small! James - 2 weeks old. James looking pretty please to be on all fours. He can't quite crawl yet, but he is on his way! Story time with Grandma Luster and cousin Jane. Quit taking pictures. I want to find out what happens to the lambs. Grandpa James Luster and his namesake. James seems to be paying rapt attention. Did you say nap time?

Saturday, September 4, 2010. I am probably the last person on the planet to be setting up a blog. The fact that my parents (who grew up in an era when computers were the size of houses) already have a blog confirms that I am drastically not "up with the times.". So, I will now may a heroic attempt to join the rest of my techno savvy friends and family and write . . . The thing is, I don't actually know how to add pictures. Ok Ok Too much type. On to the pictures! Anyhow, I met Chad through a ward functio...

Thursday, November 3, 2011. Trunk or Treat . . . Happy Halloween! This lion smells food. Come ON Tin Man, I've got my fork. I'm a lion, hear me ROAR! Mr Lion takes a dinner break. His main dish was pumpkin pie. Check out those ruby red slippers :-). I spent about 25 frantic minutes and 100 safety pins wrapping Chad up in Christmas tinsel fabric before trunk or treat. On our way to the church Chad sat down in the driver's seat of the car and yelped OUCH! A safety pin was poking him right in the behind!

Saturday, April 9, 2011. Fountains of Snot, and Sleeping Not A Lot. James has been a real trooper the last day or two. Wednesday night he was sideswiped by a nasty mysterious illness that I will term here as “The Blight of Fountains of Snot and Sleeping . . Not a Lot.”. Not 15 minutes later I was summoned again by his fervent call. And plus, Mr. D.C. was snoring soundly upstairs and would never be the wiser ;-). After forty-five minutes of glorious beauty rest, low and behold I awoke, yet again, to the s...

I still love the ring, and the boy :-). Before our entire house starts to look like this . . . I figured I would take some pictures of our home in Iowa to remember it by. Here is the lovely green yard that will be very missed once we enter the land of rock lawns. Our bathroom off the kitchen. Decor courtesy of Pier 1 :-).

Monday, May 23, 2011. This Mama Can Run. Last year's Palmer N8K 5 mile race I had to just be in the cheering section. This year I got to run! For the past year, pretty much every run I go on I am carting James along in the jogging stroller. This time Chad took the jogging stroller and let me go on my own. Running by myself felt like a breeze! Can you see who is behind me? That is right. An athletic looking black guy and several other male suckers who are about to be beat by a girl :-). My 1st grade stude...
