Jeff's Big Day Out. This blog will chronicle my cycling and life adventures. Tuesday, March 4, 2014. Day 2 yak attack. Interesting day to say the least! Long descent and found then I was riding with 2 Nepalese guys who have won the race before and our friend Thomas from Belgium. Good pace and off to second went well. Long cross valley section which was kind of cute for the little Nepalese guys. One of them weighs 47kg! Actually went into 3 rd climb with Thomas ahead of Raj Jiv and Auman. The grade steppe...

Jeff's Big Day Out. This blog will chronicle my cycling and life adventures. Monday, March 3, 2014. Jeff bit of a rough start. I wrote one of ny best blogs describing my adventure but it didn't save. I will try to get you the back story but here is the recap of day 1. Caught up to Erik had to stop and clean chain, he gave me lube for chain. Worked magic, other rider attacked as we exchanged lube, bad form. Ride him down and then passed on final hill on the day. . Thought day was only going to be 29km but...

http://jeffsbigdayout.blogspot.com/2014/03/day-6-pretty-much-worse-day-ever.html
Jeff's Big Day Out. This blog will chronicle my cycling and life adventures. Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Day 6- pretty much the worse day ever. Bags got picked up at 6am. Went and had a cup of tea and was able to choke down 1/2 bowl of porridge. Then the stomach went sideways and not to be out done the bowels opened up. GREAT! I rolled into the tea house went straight to my room and lied down. Gerry came by and put covers on me, Erik checked on me, Kate got my bag, Garrit brought me some immodium and to...

Jeff's Big Adventure(s)
Sunday, April 9, 2017. Jeff's Mini Adventure - Ilha Grande. Where Ilha Grande is. I ended up staying an evening in Rio to catch a transfer to Ilha Grande the next morning. It wasn't really enough time for me to do anything in Rio, but I did manage to catch the sunset from Arpoador overlooking Ipanema. I'd done this before, but this time I had my new GoPro Hero5 Black with me to catch a timelapse. My view. Not bad. By the time I got to Lopes Mendes I was tired, hot, and looking forward to a swim. I ha...
JEFF MICHALSKI WORKSHOP
Saturday, April 3, 2010. The universe began as infinitely small and yet remarkably dense. That's the way many of us feel about improvisation. It seems relatively simple, no lines to memorize, no blocking to follow. But soon we find ourselves overwhelmed with rules of play. Jeff's workshop is the Big Bang, starting with the small and exploding into the ever expanding universe of improv, from the basics to long form to developing styles of your own. Give yourself a day or a weekend. Jeff Michalski has work...

This wasn't for you. This wasn't FOR anyone. It's simply a remake of a classic. Sunday, January 28, 2007. Hoping this will brighten someone's day. Now that I have discovered how to post videos on here, it's pretty hard to stop. This song and video always makes me feel better no matter how down I am, so hopefully it makes you all smile too. The song is 'Hoppipolla' by Sigur Ros. If you can't understand what they're saying, it's because they're singing in Icelandic. Posted by Jeff at 1:27 AM. Sometimes I l...

Jeff's Bike Blog
Jeff's Bike and random bike related stuff from NZ. Thursday, February 22, 2018. How fast is fat? Comparing 38mm to 25mm tires in a Time Trial. There is a lot of loose talk of how fat tires are fast and lower pressure is better, so I thought I would do an experiment, over two weeks of Time Trials with the local Masters Club. This is the same course I did the Karate Monkey World record on. Having sold the Karate Monkey, the next most suitable bike I had left was my Singular. 38mm Compass Barlow Pass tires ...
