Waiting For Snow |

I Just Love…. My Favorite Room →. January 20, 2009 · 10:13 am. Right now, all of my friends and neighbors are feverishly praying for snow. It’s become a rare occurance for our little corner of Eastern Virginia so any indication of snow is cause for a raid on the grocery store and a spate of school closings. Last night was really lookin’ like snow. It was as if a gauze had fallen over everything. I was expecting to wake up today to a perfect white ground, but no such luck. Filed under Farm Things. Girls’ Night Out |

It’s Way Too Early. I Just Love… →. January 18, 2009 · 3:24 pm. Girls’ Night Out. Girls’ night out is something of a rarity for me unless it involves three girls under the age of eight. It’s really something I should do more often but you know how it goes… you and your friends. That it really is something you should do more often and it gets put off and put off. We stayed and talked and talked and talked until we were pretty sure the staff was just hanging around out of kindness. It’s Way Too Early.

Girls’ Night Out. Waiting For Snow →. January 19, 2009 · 6:22 pm. I Just Love…. Holidays with no pressure, don’t you? There’s no preparing for 20 people to eat at your house, no presents to buy for every family member… not even a costume to go out and buy and then feel crappy because you didn’t make it yourself. There are just candy hearts, chocolate and children scrawling on Valentine’s cards for their friends. How simple can a holiday get? Filed under Farmgirls (and boys). Tagged as candy hearts. On My...

January 22, 2009 · 10:44 am. I love my house. I have said that in order to preserve my house I would either chain myself to it or take it apart piece by piece and drag it with me wherever I went. I looooove my house. I love the old kitchen, the pantry made entirely of beadboard, the hand-hewn beams in my bedroom and the fact that due to plumbing being added in the sixties, I have three (3! Hot water heaters. That comes in handy when you have little girls. We also left this light fixture. We could have re...

An Alternative to Photoshop. Girls’ Night Out →. January 15, 2009 · 7:16 pm. It’s Way Too Early. I know, I know. It’s wayyyy too early to start thinking about Valentine’s Day. But I went to the store the other day and all the cute little candy hearts and pink squirt frosting and sprinkles were out. So today I made chocolate cupcakes (the best recipe EVER is on the back of the Hershey’s cocoa! And let the kids go at it. Some of the kids showed great restraint …. Filed under Farm Cookin'. Our Happy Little Home: August 2014
http://ourhappylittlehome.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 18, 2014. How is that for a creative title? It really says it all. It wasn't a bad day. Just long. So long that at 3:00, I could no longer quite remember what day it was. Must be Wednesday, right? Because Monday started so long ago. But no. Still Monday. My classes started today. I always seem to have one student who seems a bit difficult. A bit different. I'm trying to be patient. But really? Do we have to be so difficult / different on Day One? Couldn't we wait until at least Day Two?

Our Happy Little Home: February 2012
http://ourhappylittlehome.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 28, 2012. I finally got up the nerve to hang some of my favorite art in our hallway, but it's really hard to photograph it because the lighting is hit or miss. My favorite.painted by "Marilyn" and found at a flea market for $4. The colorful books have been returned to their rightful places. Oh, rainbow-colored Trixie Beldons, how I love you so! I'm off to make some colorful throw pillows. Links to this post. Monday, February 27, 2012. Happy Pins / Happy Colors. Cue the gray skies. Sourc...

Our Happy Little Home: Dental Guilt.
http://ourhappylittlehome.blogspot.com/2014/06/dental-guilt.html
Friday, June 27, 2014. Someday, when Connor is grown, I hope that he remembers that we always required him to brush his teeth twice a day. Every day. {Even though his grandparents sometimes failed to follow this particular directive}. And that we sometimes brushed his teeth for him when they were looking particularly fuzzy. I hope that he'll know that we cared deeply about his oral hygiene. Good news, though: No cavities at today's visit! Maybe there is hope for us yet. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
